For anyone who can't get it to show up in Cycles render view - simply change the blackbody intensity to 1 in the shader editor.

ONE MORE STEP REQUIRED:

CYCLES - SHADER

PRINCPLE VOLUME (GREEN TAB) - 9th row - CHANGE BLACKBODY INTENSITY TO 1

Important! this tutorial works great as of typing this. however it took me many trys and fails before i realized my render settings were completely screwed which is why it was i couldn't do it even though i followed instructions exactly. If you're having the same problem I suggest going to the defaults under your file tab and restoring factory settings. This will undo your customizations to your startup file but if you want fire this is what you have to do, especially if you follow a lot of tutorials and your settings gets switched around a lot .

When you don't want smoke in your simulation and set Density to 0 in the Principled Volume shader, you do not have to simulate it in the first place. On the domain, set Fire > Flame Smoke to 0, this makes baking the simulation significantly faster.

To make the fire work, in the shader editor change the blackbody intensity to one and increase the texpreture to 10000 and change the color of the blackbody tint to orange

I had to check Initial Velocity in Fluid settings before it would show in Blender 4.1.

"Chose what colour you want for you fire, " said the AI.

My fire hits the top of the box, is there a way to control the height of the flames?

Blender 3.6.4: For exporting the fire animation into PNGs I had to set the density back to 5. Otherwise the flames where blank in a PNG (while showing fine if exported to a JPG).

Thanks for the amazing trick! Yet, I dare to say that I'd increase the vorticity to like 0.3 or so. It adds fire more fluctuations. =) (i used half a sphere, so maybe it worked better for me this way)

Some constructive criticism. Either reduce volume of the music or turn off music to not compete with voice-over or apply some subtle duck and EQ audio operations to make it less distracting.

If it’s not working make sure the attribute is named “heat” no capitals, literally just “heat”

Was trying to figure out why the fire I created wasn't flowing upwards like the one in this video, then I realized that he was just on a different animation frame, and that solved my problem.

Can you lock this fire effect onto specific model body parts say like the hands or anywhere if so how? 😮
