Am I Making A Mistake Selling My Subaru WRX?!

Yes, I am selling my protuned 2016 Subaru WRX in the midst of a weird market. But the question is, am I making a mistake selling my WRX now? In this video, I explore the idea of selling a WRX or STI in this market, and whether it is a good financial decision.

Yup, I have a 2020 STI and no regrets. Just get it.

I’d upgrade to a 19-22. I enjoy my 19 so much more than the 15-18

In my opinion, do it now! Can’t time the market really. I just traded in my ‘18 WRX for a 19’ STi last week via Vroom.

You should check Vroom out as well since they’re giving pretty aggressive prices for our cars right now.

Yes, don’t do it. I regret the shit out of it. I wish I could buy it back. That being said you’ll get a good penny for it.

I'm not sure how the market is going in the States, but in Australia, my 2019 WRX has gone up by $12k since I bought it in October 2021. If the market is similar, then I guess it's a good time to sell.

Bro fuck the money going to a sti from a wrx is a natural progression. As soon as i got mine i forgot all about the wrx

No, cause the GR Corolla is going to destroy the wrx sales. It's basically an sti hatch, with a toyota badge, minus the hydrolic steering and boxer engine.

I think if your goal is to move into an Sti! I would myself make the move now not later!
1) you have a better chance of getting a low milage Sti not beaten on (now) the longer you wait = higher milage cars + longer they were mistreated....
2) I think they will keep going up in price...

End of the day you have to do what YOU feel is right..If I could I would love to move into an Sti!
look forward to seeing your choices.

I don't think the amount you will get off the wrx will be more than the amount you will overpay. If you look at it mods don't increase the value of a car. If you had rep wheels that might play into your favor but you have more of the cheaper brand of wheels. I think the amount you pay for an STI is going to be greater and you will most likely get one with decently high miles. That's just my opinion.

Yes, buy the STI. I came from a VA WRX before getting my 2020 STI just like you and I 100% have absolutely no regrets.

If your gonna sell it I would pick up the 400z or maybe gr Corolla. Both of those cars will feel like more bang for your buck, coming from a 21 limited Sti owner.

Question, how much is the new Corolla GR is a game changer for the STI? Is the STI going to drop in value with the new Corolla GR coming into the market?

I say if you want the WRX STI, you gotta get it now, and you are making the right move. After Subaru's announcement about the next gen STI (delayed and possibly electric/hybrid) we all know what's gonna happen. Nobody and I mean nobody is interested in an electric WRX STI..so that means massive appreciation for the 2021 etc. Personally I am looking at the Nissan Z going forward if Subaru betrays us with an electric STI. An electric WRX STI hell just discontinue it at that point, really grinds my gears.

I'm kind of annoyed because I am guessing the GR Corolla will be massively overpriced on release and I would guess it may actually go up in value because it sounds like a very limited production. And in the next two years I will probably not have the means to go for one, so I'm scared I might end up missing my chance to ever own a lower mileage newer GR corolla even though it is starting to become my dream car.

Gr Corolla, post the reserve process etc

Trade the WRX, buy the STi, keep it stock AF. Buy the '23 GR Corolla.
