My mom fell for a tech scam a few years ago, they conned her out of money, BUT her bank was able to spot those suspicious transactions and gave her her money back.

You can hang up when you answer the phone .... But then you are open to even more calls ... My mom is going through this now .
..she gets calls ALL DAY LONG....
I just tell her DO NOT ANSWER ....Let everything go to voicemail ...
Also avoid saying YES to anything ..

IRS won't call
Social Security won't call

Another scam is someone sends you a message that they saw your name on a unclaimed money site! I really thought it was a good friend of mine but when they asked for my PIN number, I decided to call my friend instead and I found out it was a scam!! 😡

I don't answer the phone if I don't know who it is. If something comes up on my computer I shut it down right away. I don't go on any dating sites and I would never send money to anyone I haven't met in person. All of my family members have way more money than I do so they aren't going to ask me for money. If I got a call saying someone was in jail and needed me to bail them out I'd figure they are in jail for a good reason so I am not going to bail them out. I can't get scammed by a romance scammer because I don't go on any dating sites and I don't friend anyone on social media who I don't know in person. If I ever did talk to any man I would tell him that I am old-fashioned and I am looking for a man who is going to provide for me, not the other way around.

An unfortunate scam is the one done by the elderlys' own family. That one family member who "borrows" money from their elderly relative.

My daughter was scammed out of $600 because she was called about not showing up for a court date which she was not aware of, but she knew she had been chosen for jury duty and could not show up. She was embarrassed because she didn't show up to jury duty and that she didn't see she was being scammed. Never believe someone when they want you to put money on a pre-paid card.

I’ve had so many attempts, simply I delete them all or just screw with them til they squeal! I’ve had the stupid grandparent jerks try that on me. I just say ‘he’s in jail? GOOD keep him there!’ They don’t like me much
