If anyone needs a way to safely and effectively remove tape ins at home without damage, go get the Garnier fructis brilliante shine spray (the green spray bottle with an orange cap). It removes them with absolutely no effort and they slide right out with no damage 😘 thank me later!

Wish I knew this before I had extensions a few years ago. I literally ended up with barely any strands of hair on my head. Fast forward 5 years and its finally almost back to

I had hair extensions a few years ago and never again. My hair was completely wrecked and the extensions looked pretty naff from the outset. the only thing I liked about them was the color.

I have had tape in extensions for 3 months now, but took them out for about 2 weeks before putting them in again. My natural hair is long, but I just wanted to add a bit of length my extensions are 22 inches long but that is only about 2 inches longer than my hair. I have been only washing my hair 2 times a week and I always use a hair mask on all the hair. Put leave in conditioner and let them air dry.

All depends on the way they are installed - removed & after care We have lots of clients with major hair growth

My actual hair extensions start to thin and break off at the ends after only a couple months with new hair. My last hair was nearly five inches shorter than originally after 11 months. This time it has been two months and I can see the ends are thinning. I take extra good care of my hair, am careful with and limit heat, and use professional grade products. Any suggestions?

Never had extensions. Always wanted to try when I was younger, but now I can’t handle my longer hair. I would guess there’s a lot of upkeep for sure!
Great information. Thank you

I use coconut oil to remove my tape in extensions. I put oil in the microwave and apply as a hot oil treatment not only to the extensions it all of my hair. Tape ins slide right off.

The extensions will be oily, so dip the taped part into some talc/baby powder, allow some time to soak up the oil. Then you can easily remove tape, and wash the extensions really well before reapplying tape.
*Initially I thought my hair was thinner but I realized it was because I got used to having the extensions in and how much thicker my hair felt. Take before and after pictures to see if/how your hair differs between extensions. Also, make sure the grow out is not too much where the weight of the extensions begin to really pull on your hair and add weight. Better to remove more often then wait longer and possibly cause damage.

I like to give my hair a couple of weeks between removal and replacement. I use a halo in between. Healthy scalp maintenance is important and it’s hard when constantly wearing extensions.

Ellabangs, could you advise. If I have shoulder length hair which is fine texture but lots of it. Would 150 pieces weigh it down too much or should I wait until my natural hair grows a bit? Thank you for this video. x

Absolutely, love watching your informational video. I have learned a lot, but I am still waiting to see a tutorial of how to highlight and cover gray hair. Any chance you could do a video on how to maintain or touch up roots with highlights. I am trying to do all the maintenance at home these past couple of years and have had fun but cannot seem to find a way to get these grays taken care of. Thanks a bunch

Hi Elle! I have a question for you. I recently started installing my own tape ins I know it's better to have a professional install them but I wanted to give it a try anyway to save a little money lol I've installed them 3 different times now over the past year and the last time I removed them not only was my hair noticeably thinner but alot shorter now maybe I accidentally trimmed too much of my own hair while adding layers to extensions etc is it possible for them to make your hair so much shorter I've heard of it getting thinner but not shorter so I'm wondering if I'm not damaging my hair or have traction alopecia now it's kind of scary!! Please help!!!
