I've got News for you all. You can NOT overcook orzo pasta. I tried it purposely b/c I had recent oral surgery that temporarily keeps me from chewing solid foods. I cooked it for 30 minutes in salted water . . . then I drained and transferred it into my pasta sauce and simmered it for over an hour. At the end . . . it was just as firm as it was after the 12 min recommended cooking timed. So . . . for you absent-minded cooks who might forget it on the stove . . . No Problem! For others that share my predicament . . . Not So Much!

Very nice but the protein is missing...You could use Mushrooms or Shrimps or Tuna or cooked Beef or other meat to complete the dish....
