People don’t leave jobs, they leave bosses.

I confronted my boss once and told him what he did/say to me was disrespectful. From then on, he become more cautious on his words towards me. I eventually left the job, and got to know that he told the team that - “oh.. there’s no more toxicity in the team”. I really don’t understand the need for him to do that. We had daily calls sometimes and everything was fine between us. No argument, disagreement etc.

You have to quit to get away from that negative energy. If you don’t you will get sick especially if you’re sensitive and pickup on peoples vibes. You can make yourself physically sick. Get out asap. I don’t care what your living situation is. Get out before it’s too late.

Same mine discounts all the hard work I've done for him acting like I haven't been doing anything, will spontaneously yell at me over small things, tells me things and when I follow those directions he says something different, and doesn't even know how to operate any of the equipment. Not to mention all his BS questions he asks me (some personal). God if I weren't getting paid enough I would really like to give him a piece of my mind 😡

She should look for another job. It's a shame he's too old school..

That's where I don't agree with you, changing my attitude towards him won't make him respect me but will only show him it's okay to treat me like a dog because now he'll see it as the problem was with me, not him. Nobody supposed to accept this kind of behavior, just because you work for him doesn't give him the right to be disrespectful towards you. People like that have to be dealt with properly, ideally with the help of human resources because his unprofessional way of treating his employees brings a bad reputation to the whole company. In the end he wouldn't like to be mistreated by other person so if he wants people to respect him he has to give a right example. Nothing gives your boss the right to be rude and cause you stress at work as it is a huge part of our lives and it consumes most of our time. He doesn't have to like you but there's a workplace etiquette and without it noone would respect others.

I had a first meeting for a new job. They hired me for a test of weeks. I met "The Boss". His first words: "So you were the less worst candidates for the job..." (Thanks god I was wearing a mask due to the pandemic... I nearly laughed by this so disrespectful introduction.)

There are people that are just like this. They don't believe anyone and ask questions over and over looking for something wrong. The reasons can be various. Best to just avoid them and pick your spots if you have to be involved with them.

I just called HR right now to report my manager because she called me at 7:00 to try and make me apologize. But she was having a very disrespectful tone of voice and talked to me like if she was my mom trying to belittle me. (I don’t even let my own mom talk to me like that) once I realized she was just calling me to yell at me and make me apologize I just said ok 👍🏻 and she hung up. Ima get her fired if she keeps going or treats me differently for reporting her rude ass because normally I would just dip and get a new job. But I really like this job and I make really good money so I’m not fucken leaving!! She’s gonna have to go

Solid advice. My boss is “nice” usually but often feckless and sometimes intentionally puts me down or uses language to make me feel bad. I don’t like it

My job is getting out of hand senior management is never proactive and always reactive and it’s frustrating- I am a supervisor and my team always finishes 1-3 place out of 30 teams - my manager is always stressing me and complaining about little things and small bonus items and I just don’t enjoy working with her . Praying things change and I will learn whatever god has in store for me with this position- I loved working at the company but there management is just not up to par, I feel this hinders me from helping my team and it’s frustrating.

I used to work in corporate security, which was mint for the most part. However I had two people in one of my posts that were just plain awful - one was my supervisor, the other was a supervisor on another team, that just so happened to be my former best friend.

When I came to realise that I have done all I could to make the cause work, with little to no respect given back, my original plan was to resign (which would've been bad for me in the short term, but I digress), but after watching a video about toxic bosses one time, I found a piece of advice that was even better - I spoke to the manager, and asked for a transfer to a different site. Not to say there was any kickback, as my former best friend first tried to convince me it was a mistake to leave, and when that didn't work, he labelled me "weak", "a coward", and "a quitter", but I had made up my mind regardless....

I was never respected as a security guard when I got off duty I had to stop by at my bank to pick up my paycheck and there was a guy in his 60s or so that was complementing this police officer but then started talking garbage about me and then he asked me why are you not getting up off your butt doing your job I said because one it’s none of your business and two I’m off duty and three I don’t work here I’m only coming here to the bank to pick up my paycheck I said mind your business but what bothered me is that the police officer did not say a damn thing to stand up for me he didn’t say anything to the disrespectful guy that completely dissed me so I know exactly how it feels To be disrespected by people I even got disrespected by my boss he said that nothing I had to say was important and that I wasn’t important enough for him to bother with that made me realize that security was not for me but more importantly that I valued my time and my self much more than my boss did so I left

As soon as I heard youngest member on the team and a female voice, I knew where she was going. Ageism goes both ways in the workplace, some older folks do not want to retire and are desperate to hold on to control for as long as possible.
