The real problem is when not only is the boss a bully but the rest of the team kiss his ass.

Confront your boss in a dark alley, from behind you throw a large sack over the boss'es head so you can't be seen. Knock the f-er down and kick until you can no more. For best results invite friends to help you kick.

The sad thing is that a lot of bosses won't be a mature adult and realize any faults that they have. Most of the time it's "if you don't like it, there's the door." Then years down the road the company falls apart. It's really sad that money can corrupt people like this. Even if they're treating you unfairly and you say something about it, it will most likely cost you your job. For the long term, best to find another job.

A good boss is compassionate and wise enough to know how to make their employees happy healthy and productive

I work in a place where they overload me with work, under pay, tells me I'm inefficient and I turn around and ask what did I do that makes what I do inefficient and he just told me "you know it", verbally abuse me, had zero idea about management, let the son who does nothing and free load salary. When I confronted him and his son, they just avoid and ignored the issue.

Was asking my colleague, they feels the same and they have been thru my situation. They also told me that I'm the first that stands up for myself.

I also got blame and they try to shame me for discussing the issue with my colleagues which they do not want to admit the horrible situation and avoid all responsibilities.

The worst place to worked at.

Bad bosses uses their authority in such a way just to hide their imperfection. They are scared for you to see that they themselves are kinda more stupid than you. That is base on personal experience. And once you found their flaws...they will make your life miserable

If you tell your boss he's bullying you, you have just lost all your possible cards. If you think you will turn a bully into a nice guy, you are wrong. Don't count on it. There is but a single way to deal with a bully: don't show your emotions, be distant and unemotional. Talk the least and NEVER lower the guard, he will make a joke, will make you smile, and that's when he will hit you. They FEED on emotions. And of course, the best way is to quit that job, but most of the times a boss is bully because he knows you can't quit - mainly for financial reasons.

My boss barely speaks English and gets mad when I don't understand him. Ridiculous.

It seems like everyone likes to celebrate when the boss from hell gets fired. Everyone's stress level decreases. 😁

I did have amazing bosses in the past who are so smart, kind and compassion, very understanding, they treated me like family one the first day of work, willing to teach and guild you things you need to know, and when there're problem we need to work out, we work it out with great communication, no grudge, I conaidered it as some ofbmy blessing in life to have met them.

I have a boss and coworker who make sure I know that I can’t do anything right. For the first 2 months, I thought I was dumb, now I realize that they’re just awful at training and want someone to criticize.

In my past and current experience with absentee bosses, the majority of the time these bosses got to be bosses is because of the way they get along with upper management and how laidback they are. This ends up transferring into their work and upper management is well aware, but do nothing despite this. At my prior employer, I took my complaint all the way up the chain to the GM and HR, only to end up empty handed and retaliated against. I ended up quitting and find another employer, but now face another absent boss. So many people want the title and pay, but don’t want the responsibility that comes with it.

Unfortunately if your boss is an egotistic jerk who is always on your back and you report their bad behaviour to the top, aka the management team they may support your boss' bad unethical behaviour as the management want to make as much profit as possible. They think being a Grade A jerk is the way to get people working. They say "Well he is just doing his job, ". Sorry but we all should expect to work in a pleasant environment so we can do our jobs to the best of our abilities. A toxic boss can hamper your performance. Sometimes a boss may have their faves an all the ass kissers get treated like royalty and can do what they want, and the hard workers get micromanaged and nitpicked on. And what is annoying is when others say the boss is a great bloke, yet the ones he does not like feel the total opposite.

Confronting a boss, who happens to be a narcissist will only end badly, trust me. Just tell them to "F" themselves and leave. Honestly, in this case I wouldn't worry much about putting in notice and doing it the "right" way, because chances are high that they will not sing your praises anyway when the next job comes calling them for a reference. They will be offended that you have the nerve to leave them and will do whatever they can to sabotage your future endeavors without them. Don't put yourself through this abuse, just get out. You WILL find another job and money elsewhere, these things always work themselves out in the end.

This is why I don't need a job. I need a business and own my business as a leader myself and work at home is always better those 40 hours slave work week. No more boss. :-)

That poor server. I know the reporter was probably joking when he said “I like where this is going”, gross and uncalled for to make this comment! her boss asking her to sit on the lap of an 86-year-old man is just plain disgusting, demeaning, and inconsiderate.
