I don't even try to understand no more. My key have been turning the light on without locking or unlocking the car for hours.
After seeing you video, I got downstairs, put the key on ignition and rotate it without turning the engine on ten remove the key, just like you did. but on the first press of the unlock button the car unlocked in the same instant without even leaving the button or pressing the lock button 3 times. I was just fucking happy.
now my key works just when it wants to ( I mean the light on the key fob only blinks when it whats to.... Believe, as am engineer, its not the is new and just over the voltage spec).

Turns out I just don't activate the alarm anymore, I only use the door looks, as the driver door lock don't work in a 100/1 rate. When it does work I fiddle with the key until it unlocks.

Lo he intentado pero no me funciona, a pesar de que este es el método que también dice el manual. Es un seat ibiza del año 2000, le he cambiado las pilas al mando pero al hacer el proceso la luz del mando no hace los 5 destellos. Ni idea de porqué, pero parece que me quedo sin mando a distancia... 😩
