That tag at the end about being in charge of your own health is so important. Every time another cardiologist (five so far) is condescending, curt, stonewall-ish, or tries to send me off on a wild goose chase instead of investigating what's really going on with me (latent obstruction—which I am now 100% sure is the answer), I remember I'm still in charge and I keep seeking. Getting close, too. Thanks, docs. You have a place in my heart.

I was marketing director 7 years recently for a large orthopedic group. You two are SO much fun AND you explain in simple terms so everyone can understand. You are marketer’s dream come true. You need to take your show on the road! Seriously! Thank you for these videos.

Yup. Live on: olive oil, organic spinach mix, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and your favorite protein. Carrots for snacks. Garlic, tumeric, and other healthy herbs. Walnuts and almonds. Occasional slice of rye bread. Occasional whole fruit. No juice. Consider dairy as an occasional treat. Blow off the starches. More energy, less sleep, better skin.

Fantastic info once again, Docs, and I'm diabetic type 2! To abandon a good ham sandwich on white bread, or a tasty curry with white rice, is testing temptation to the limit. However, as we learn more about the impact of sugar on our health, it's absolutely important to avoid or limit certain foods. Thank you!

I've been waiting for this one. Terrific, thanks so much. Could you please talk at some point about how GI/insulin process relates to feelings of hunger.

OUTSTANDING information! The way you explain things is so easy to understand. I see the two of you more like Phineas and Ferb with your scientific minds...I'm just not sure who would be who. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for all of the information you share and how you share it! Would you consider doing one explaining insulin resistance and best ways to improving it?

Jenkins may get credit for the discovery, but my mother knew this way back in 1946. She would never give me anything sweet, made her own whole wheat bread (white bread was considered the spawn of the devil and would inevitably lead to colon cancer), cooked only steamed vegetables from our garden…etc. She maintained that sugar was addictive…a total devotee of Adele Davis. As a child, I felt left out and envious when other kids were given candy and white bread sandwiches. At our 55th high school reunion, though, I felt her ideas had really paid off in my health. I’ve continued her eating habits for 76 years…I’m still here.❤. Thanks, Mom

I remember the bamboo steamer. And the launch of Saturday Night Live and MTV. And Second City TV, a Canadian comedy show. I am officially old.

I am always told to eat whole grains (not processed grains) due to their lower/better GI rating. But when I look up 100% whole wheat vs. white flour, the rating is not much different. Same with brown rice vs. white rice.

One of the most entertaining videos on a topic that wouldn't ordinarily be so entertaining, lol. Great work doctors! New subscriber here for sure. Down 150 lbs past 18 months. Weight loss has become harder and was told by a friend to check out the glycemic index and see if leveraging low glycemic foods can help jump start weight loss again - had only heard of the index before, but this is the very first video I have watched in an effort to understand what it is. Thanks so much for the information!
