You neglected several points, important
1. UAE Salaries are tax-free and therefore what you are paid each month is what you receive unless you are a national of a country that taxes on global income
2. Emirates provides free accommodation for its crew including rent and utilities at no cost to the crew. If you choose not to live in official Emirates accommodation, you will receive a 'housing allowance'.
3. Emirates provides airport transfers via crew shuttles, therefore no cost to get to and from work
4. Emirates provides fitness centers in the accommodation at no cost
5. Emirates provides full medical care in the UAE and globally for its crew

The above adds about 70% in cash and non-cash value to your pay packet.

Although the Grade II Economy base looks and seems low, taken together (cash + non-cash), Emirates crew are paid much higher, on average, than their counterparts in America.

For example, an American Airlines crew member with 12 years service in Economy and flying 80 hours per month is making around $5, 500 USD monthly, gross. Minus income tax (20%), paying for an apartment rent or mortgage, and their own transport to/from the base airport.

The smart crew members of the G3 take your advice and save money, work hard, and in a couple of years have more than enough down payment for a property and/or are supporting their family 'back home'.

This also explains why so many restaurants and bars in Dubai offer discounts to Emirates crew (hint; disposable income).

Personally, for me it's not about the money, it's about the passion. But also imagine getting to do what you love and also getting paid for it🤩Wow, what a plus point! More than happy❤🙏🏼

The salary example she gives is very good for 90 hours work. You compare it to a newly qualified Registered Nurse working in central London who has accommodation and travel to pay for and works 150plus hours a month it seems Emirates is a wise alternative!

Having to serve meal service at 3am in the morning and leaving a hot climate to arrive in the cold, once I dreamed about being a flight attendant. From memory Qantas staff had 10 days layover in London. Now I guess it’s probably 24 hours.

Wow this job should be paid a lot more! Nothing about this job seems easy when I think about how the body deals with the multiple time zones and figuring out how to get good sleep, dealing with customers, being prepared if there's an emergency, all while being perfectly groomed dolled up and maintaining your weight 😳 i really respect this job!

Hi dear the layover allowance with Emirates is now calculated with your salary, as the same as the Qatar.Flight attendant's mom here 🙂

I believe Emirates has also changed the allowance payments. They now come along with the salary into your account ie.

@2:32 if you want basic pay she says it here @3:12 she tell you what you get on top of your basic pay @3:12 @6:02 she adds up everything that gives you a total of 3, 000 USD per month

Let's say if you know the city you can save a lot, the problem is that often you dont have the time to travel around and so you risk to enter a very expansive restaurant without knowing it, so 100USD could be a lot or very few it depends, let's say you need to know the places and be careful. On the other hand anycase you get 100USD if you prefer eat a sandwich and spend it in a spa you are free to do it, it's better than showing recepits and fulfill a note expanse list
