Misinfo in the video: Nintendo doesn't own yuzu code, read the settlement document, the only thing they let them take over is the discord server and site, other than accepting to stop development and paying for the piracy damage

At the very least, yuzu and ryujinx left in a state to work with most of the games

Ryujinx might be more demanding, but It's also the most accurate Switch emulator we have.

Yuzu and Ryujinx already have a great compatibility for 90% of the games so "dead" is not a word that I would use to describe NSwitch emulation, if you know how to pirate a game you already know how to get the binaries of the last builds of a no longer developed emulator. Yes, is sad for the iOS and Android community, but those windows binaries will be compatible with any version of windows for at least the next 15 years.
Everyone remember UltraHLE emulator?, if you do, this is not the end of Nintendo Switch emulation, it's only the beginning.

Ryujinx wasn't making much money because reddit always saw it as a meme emulator written in meme C# language. Even though it was always the first to make all the breakthroughs (you can research this, it was the first to run a 3D game properly, and first to well, any other breakthrough)

Development is dead however a ton of games are extremely playable, if Nintendo was smart they would sell the app under Nintendo and make us login to play our purchased games. I'd support that if the company was so up their butts.

To clarify, there was NO cease and desist whatsoever, there was no copyright claims, nothing, Ryujinx stopped by themselves, which is why such a big part of the community who thinks they got paid, although it very well could have been out of fear.

It's such a shame that Ryujinx was also shut down. I thought that it was safe, but it being shut down proved me wrong. Sudachi is not a proper replacement for Switch emulation because it does not have nearly as many people assisting in that project, thus developments will likely completely stagnate. I don't think Switch emulation is dead, but whether or not it will get much better than it already is right now has yet to be seen.

Ryujinx being open source means a lot tho. Options aren't clear, but that doesn't mean Switch emulation is over.

China devs should create their own open source emulator?
Their govt can give nintendo the middle finger to DMCA lawsuits

If everyone in the emulation development scene where doing it the right way, not even legal teams could stop us.

Suyu has been recently creating issues and adding commits to the repo, time will tell, but it is honestly really depressing to see this :(

What these emulator devs using Patreon don't understand is that you can just sell something else or create a Patreon for something else and just advertise them in the same places. For example, you can't legally sell burritos without a food handler's card but you can sell $5 paper towel sheets and give the burritos out for free. Word of mouth gets around and everyone knows where to go and what to do. And yes, this is something that has been done before.

What the emulator crews should start doing is create Patreons for stick figure art pictures and then use that money to fund their "free" emulators. That way there is no legal way to prove that any work was made to profit from and they can continue development without issue.

We will have to organize as said before. This is the biggest problem. Even with a single developer team, there are many improvements that can be made to the switch emulator.

A random idea popped into my head from a comment on this video. Why doesn't nintendo make their own emulator?

You could make the user have to use an official nintendo switch to plug into the computer and begin the official emulator setup process.

SWITCH EMULATORS WILL NEVER DISAPPEAR BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY SEVERAL TITLES AND AT THE SAME TIME THE SWITCH CONSOLE GREETINGS

So the code and work is out there. I think Switch emulation is dorment for now, but when the new consol comes out, and it will prolly be more of an switch upgrade, someone will be picking up the torch again. Then i also think its time to go more anonymous around the project, then have updates in the client, where you cant take down git hub pages. The dev can make mirrors.

Give it a year or so until the dust settles, and I'm pretty sure someone somewhere will keep making fixes for the first party games yet to be released
