DIY Corian Counter Tops | How to Build Solid Surface Kitchen Countertops

Remodeling my kitchen required new counters so I decided to make some! I chose solid surface because it is a project I could DIY to give me the durability I need with the beautiful modern look I want.

Well done and love that you jump in and learn new things.

You really, really need to wear a respirator style mask with appropriate filters when working with this stuff (or any wood to be honest). From someone with lung issues I can't stress this enough. It's all cumulative and once your alveoli are damaged there's no recovery from that and every time you inhale these kinds of sensitizers it does irreversible damage. I don't want to sound all preachy but it's such a potential life changing thing for both you and your whole family that's so easy to do and the sooner you get into the habit of it when cutting or sanding anything (and even for a while afterward) the better it will be for your health.

Keep up with all the learning and get yourself a nice comfy 3M respirator and some 209x series filters and wear them religiously!

I'm quite impressed with this project and admire how you fearlessly approach such a complex task! I often have reservations with purchasing dimensional lumber like 1" x 4" from big box stores as they often are warped, cupped and not straight. Fitting counter tops is a precise task so you must have found straight boards to use as guides for routing the material. Great job !

Great video, you did a very good job on the counters and just as good job on the video commentary. You didn’t ramble and stayed on point of subject.
I’m planning on doing a solid surface project myself (1 practice on a moveable bench in my current mobile home for extra counter space) then on my barndominium which is going to replace my mobile on my property. Seeing this video actually inspired me to undertake this project since cost of countertops is unaffordable
