One of the most underrated rock ballads, I'm 53 years old, and still is as good as it ever was

Timeless beautiful classic. I'm sorry for the younger generation that they will never experience great music like this. The 80s rocked

My husband and I celebrate 58 years together this year, 2024! Songs like this are very special! Love does last! I am madly in love with him….1965 met him in April…..married him in October 65……he left for a tour of Vietnam a month after we had our big church wedding! Memories! ❤

80s music will never die. The whole decade. I live in the 80s the whole decade so I will know better.

I was a Disc Jockey/PD/MD in 1989, when I received a promo copy 45 of this song. I put it on the turntable and cried my eyes out. So many things about this song touched my soul. First of all, the lyrics describe true love like no other song has been able to in my lifetime. My first response was "I hope I find love like this someday." Secondly, The vocal range of this singer is amazing. When the pitch-change comes you have to say to yourself, "damn, this song just keeps getting better and better." Lastly, when he hits that final note and holds it for an icredible amount of time, (I don't think they had the capability to electronically stretch, nor did they have pitch perfect in 1989) when I played it on the air lead me to say something like "suck on that Mariah Carey." The saddest thing about this song is the band broke up in 1985. Credit some USA Disc Jockey for playing it one day as a "secret song" and it making the phones explode for its resurgence to the charts. It did reach #1 on Billboard so it got what it deserved.

im a touring musician, in a tribute band, and, for today., the music created means something to the artists creating it, and thats great, but nothing today has the foundation, passion and feeling like this ballad from the 80's, Damn song is just gorgeous from start to finish... well done Freddie... amazing back then
