When i first heard this song back in 83 or 84 and I heard the end of the song and I was like mannn that guy is holding that note for the longest I had timed it I think it was about i wanna say almost 2 mins I can't remember that far back but when I listened to the song I didn't know I had tears flowing down my cheeks! And I still cry listening to it today! I'm 62 years old now will be in couple of weeks and I was in my mid 20s when this song came out! i wished i had gotten the cassette tape when it came out back then we had cassettes not cds so i can imagine back then we had no special technology So this guys voice was so very REAL! The song was first released in 1983 and peaked on the American Hot 100 at #61. I was in LA at the time and it was a farily big hit there. Got a lot of airplay. It was re-released in '88 and shot to #1 in the states, although the band had broken up. Freddie Curci had another hit with Alias in 1989. So he had two hit songs, two more than most rock singers get. With his talent, he deserved more.
