I have had CPPS for over 2 years. The pain vaires from almost none to very bad. I was given months of antibiotics at first even though there was no sign of infection.. I have also seen 4 different pelvic PT specialists over the last 10 months. Not much better. Most of the pain is in the tip of the penis. One thing I did notice is that if I am having a very bad day, ejaculating often helps the pain.

One of the curses of this ailment is that it can easily make ejaculation a MISERY instead of a pleasure, plus I've often found that the gnawing, burning sensation it causes in the genitals can easily--and cruelly--INCREASE libido at the same time, probably because the prostate 'wants' more than ever to be emptied to try to relieve the inflammation within it.

If you have any prostatic bleeding--i.e., if you see blood in your urine or after urination, or see blood in your semen--a next ejaculation(s) will likely cause the bleeding to recur until the prostatic tissue heals up again. My advice under that circumstance is: Don't allow ejaculation, or even arousal if you can help it. And be forewarned: profuse prostate/bladder neck bleeding can travel up into the bladder, clot there when it contacts the urine, and block urine outflow, which is then a life-threatening situation that demands a hasty trip to the ER before your bladder bursts and MUCH misery afterward as you constantly walk on eggshells, trying to heal again internally and to recover over (what for me was) a period of 13 long years.

This was absolutely the worst misery of my entire life, and it involved having an intensified instinct to reproduce pitted against my instinct to survive. So don't risk making matters (much) worse if you experience bleeding. Let it REST and go learn calculus instead (or something).
