Prostatitis is the infection of the prostate . Many men suffer from Prostatitis and they are put to many hardships. Prostatitis are of two types, acute and chronic Prostatitis. Acute is when the onset is very fast because of bacterial infection , in the elderly especially with enlargement of the prostate and those with comorbidities like diabetes, patient will have low backache, difficulty in passing urine, perineal examination. Examination is by urine examination ultrasound and blood test. Urologist prescribes a course of antibiotics to the patient and most of the time.

Thanks doctor for the crisp and sharp information. I tried to understand my issues but you have said it correctly. I am facing the symptoms exactly you have mentioned. My doctor also told me that I have chronic prostatitis. I am taking Niftas 50 and Geripod-D tablets daily once for the last six months. It is little better but not completely cured and no further improvement. No fever, urine culture also negative. Any suggestions please... I am struggling very much...
