Genuinely believe this might be the greatest six minutes in all of the Star Trek films. The music is fantastic, the ships look and move like they’re MASSIVE. It’s emotionally stirring stuff. Awesome.

Who would have thought a scene involving backing a starship out of a space station could be so dramatic.🥰🥰🥰

There's no denying that this particular scene is among my absolute favorites in the films. It truly reinforces my deep admiration for the crew of the original series and reaffirms why, in my opinion, they continue to be the best cast in the entire franchise.

James Horners best piece of music. This scene with no music would be so boring. I have watched and listened to this music a million times

“Kirk, you do this you will never sit in the Captain’s chair ever again.”

Kirk sits in the command chair.

Kirk: “Warp speed.”

HELL YEAH!!! 😎

What they do not show in the movie that the describe in the novel, is the chaos that Uhura was causing behind the scenes, messing up communications and so on. That is a big reason why the Enterprise escapes. She then runs the the Vulcan Embassy and gets asylum from Ambassador Serek.

I was very blessed to have seen this with my mom in the theater when it came out and it’s because of this reason that I became a Star Trek enthusiast. The single best cast in the history of Star Trek!

I never really noticed before, but you see the screen behind Chekov saying 'this station under computer control' and you see it on the other stations too, nice detail!

The way Sulu just confidently flies the Enterprise towards a wall on Kirks command is just a great moment. This is the best Trek film.

I love the music of this scene and always have, I had the soundtrack album for years, but it got lost years ago. James Horner, did such a magnificent job on this piece of music. I 'm so glad I can come here to listen to it. You are missed James. Star Trek and the crew have always been about loyalty to each other, and doing whatever it takes to help your friends. A good lesson for us all.

I just love the grin on Scotty’s face upon the Warp Speed order. Knowing full well the Excelsior ain’t gonna do sh!t to keep up….

4:15 is one of the best shots next to the Enterprise coming out of the clouds behind Reliant in Wrath of Khan... Goes to show what practical/optical effects can do... That is one sexy ship... Pure perfection...

Kirk's big F.U. to Starfleet! The best moment in ALL of Star Trek.

The starship and starbase models in this movie look so much more realistic than the CGI they are using in Star Trek strange new worlds it's such a shame the quality of CGI in the modern TV shows just doesn't match these classic movies or TV shows like tng
