This video shows you how to open files using a Terminal UNIX command on a Mac.

For file path just drag it into the Terminal window. It should appear immediately.

Right click on the file, click open with, click 'others', select application (MS WOrd, PPt, Adobe, Excel, etc. ), once the file open, save the file (save as)

fine but of course you can't if you don't know the file name - so you would first need to list the directory using ls?
