I stopped buying lunch, coffee, and processed snacks. When I buy lunch or coffee at work, it's a special treat less than twice a year. I don't buy processed snacks... It's a bad option all around. Before making a purchase, I check my local buy nothing group. This saved me by giving me a high quality TV, leather couch set, and kitchen tools. I similarly give my stuff away on my buy nothing group. Finally, I buy high quality gently used items on marketplace and eBay.

We have a standing grocery shopping list. We buy only what we need. We arrive with our shared list and only the items that are marked as needed are bought. Saves us time and money by reducing impulsive purchases that quickly add up.
