JBugs - Father & Son - 1972 Baja Bug build begins!

As we mentioned in a couple of prior videos, Sam and his son, Nathan have been thinking about a Baja Beetle project to build for Nate's first car. Sam and Nathan had picked out a car from the 8 that JBugs had bought up earlier this year, but the cars aren't for sale at this point. So Sam located another suitable project in the Phoenix area, and deal was struck with it's owner. Nathan and Sam loaded the car up, towed it home and got to work on it immediately! The interior is cleaned out, Nate shows his dad that he knows how to open a door latch and install a steering wheel nut better than Sam does and general disassembly continues. The seized up (hopefully from the weather) engine is dropped and the fenders, hood and deck lid are all removed. This ought to be a great series with a bunch of repair work and how to information along the way. Between that and the entertainment of watching a young son working along side his father, this promises to be a series you'll want to subscribe to!

Best video I've seen to date. Nothing like a father and son project. I'm looking forward to this journey with y'all.

Great video Sam & Nathan! My granddaughter likes to help Grandpa tinker around his 74 SB Convertible, as she is learning all about metric tools. As a side note to reflect your parting words at the end of the video: Be The One is the program for this year by the American Legion and its program departments. Can't wait for the future vids! All the best for the New Year.

Love this! I helped with older siblings and their friends and then at an air museum my dad volunteered at! Just got a ‘58 bug and the smell brings back so many memories & now my daughter will be learning too!

Hey Sam, hope you had a Merry Christmas and on target for a Happy New Year.. I saw a guy restoring a 240Z and when it came to removing the old sound deadening material he took small chunks of dry ice and put it in the floorboard and let it sit for 10-15 min scooped it up and moved it to the other side... He took a screwdriver a broke it out in big chunks.. it took it out right down to bare metal.. of course that wouldn't work on the roof unless you have a rotisserie... I thought that information might be useful to you.. Sam good to see you and your son working on a project together... He'll always remember that.. Take care Sam and God Bless...

It crazy to see a rot free 72 bug in the condition.😲 Up here in New England you can't find cars like that.😕
