What to Do If You Replace Your Spark Plugs and Coil and It Still Misfires (2.0t TSI)

This question was asked on the AskDAP Show Episode 18. Q. I have purchased a set of spark plugs and ignition coils from you guys and wanted to know, what do I do if they do not fix the misfire issue on my 2.0t TSI engine?

So would the same issues apply to a 2006 2.0T FSI engine? My 2006 Passat is misfiring badly on 301 & less so on 302. I swapped & verified ignition coils & installed new spark plugs (NGK vs. the Densos I had installed previously - a mere 4 months ago). The misfiring & shaking of the engine continues, though 301 seems to be the main code. I'd have to let the car idle for quite awhile before it triggers 302. I'm a financially-strapped single female learning DIY repairs thanks to YouTube & channels like yours! I can't afford Los Angeles mechanic rates, so I do as much as I can on my own. Would I now look for carbon build-up/fuel injector issues? Someone else suggested I get a compression test done on the troublesome cylinder(s). Help?

My car never misfired until I just had the spark plugs replaced by a mechanic. Then they said it was probably a cracked plug and they replaced all of them again and it still misfires and jerks at a stop. Then they said it was a vapor canister vent solenoid (even though this problem has never happened until the spark plugs were replaced) and I paid for that part. It is still misfiring and jerking at a stop and seems as if it stops jerking as much as the car warms up. Is there something they could have done to my car while installing spark plugs to cause this?

P.S. I also have new codes. All 4 cylinders are misfiring and random misfire codes. Is it the timing? And what piece controls that? I know it’s getting fuel cause you can hear the fuel pump go on on the on position. Plus when I tried starting it I hit the gas a few times. And when I took the plugs out afterwards, they were covered in gas! Please help? Need info badly!

I have a 2010 Hyundai Tucson had a cylinder 3 misfire car stalled on the side of the road I changed out the spark plugs and the ignition coils Hyundai parts and the car did not start it has a new battery on it so I disconnected it and for 20 min and rehook it and see if that helps my scanner is saying a cylinder 3 misfire and now a camshaft sensor has popped up too any ideas

@Deutsche auto part I have a 2015 rogue it has over 92000 miles i was getting a misfire every now and then..no check light engine so I decided to replace my spark plugs 2 out of 4 had alot of build up first day back on the road car was running fine but its bn a week now and I'm feeling a slight hesitation what could it be??? My 2012 fusion awd sport was misfiring last year. I was changing one coil at a time solving issue for a month or 2 then issue returned. So I changed them all with plugs and problem still persisted. So I unplugged battery resetting computer then started it right up. Ran rough for a couple a of minutes then it idled smoothly. So happy

I've got a P0301 Code and my car is running smoothly and has not entered limp mode. These 2.0 TSI motors are mysterious, but if its not having a rough idle, I think I just may need to clean my fuel injectors and get new plugs and coils just to be safe.

I’m just so lost at this point, my full bolt in Unitronic stage 1+ vw cc has misfires every 4 month, BARLEY I mean I’ve done everything I scan it with my obd on the live data it said I have about 80 misfires like what I’m just lost, I’ve changed the spark plugs ignition coils to the r8 coils, got new fuel Injectors, did my oil change and I did the carbon clean about 4 month ago is 4 month normal ?

I have a bmw mini 2012 the car was shaking but I recently had it serviced, about a week ago all of a sudden this issue came up, so again I changed the spark plugs as last time my brother took it so not sure if he just pocketed the money lol...anyway and then the coil but still shakes and some times and engines loses power. I had it taken to a garage once before and they said error code displayed something about combustion.. plz help I don’t want to take it dealer and spend more money plz plz

So I have an 2001 mustang v6 it's pulling misfire on cylinder 4. Coil pack and plugs are getting good spark not sure where to go from here or if I should still replace the coil pack and plugs just to make sure

How about an 03 g35? I changed coils and plugs but still misfire code p0300 pops up.. Also smokes a bit was smoking alot but i just did new valve covers and gaskets new plenum gaskets coils plugs and oil change now it smokes less migh need to run it a bit too burn it out the system also a bit of black oil substance from muffler any help is appreciated

Hey thabk you for this video. My bmw had the same issue this video was very helpful and it answered my issue. My mechanic found the issue and its like what you said. One cylinder still misfiring after i replaced my coils and sparks was the fuel injection failure

2008 Jeep Liberty 3.7 misfire and no spark in ignition coil 1 and 6. Changed all 6 coils, all fuel injectors, and spark plugs.. Still the same misfire..Can you guide me on what to do next? Could it be the wiring ?, , Im lost..Thanks

I have a 2010 Chrysler 300S 5.7 with a PO305 code. I’ve replaced injector, replaced coil, replaced spark plugs, did a compression check 150 PSI. Why do I still have a code PO305? What am I missing?
