M-Audio M-Track Solo, Broken. Red lights.

This is my third M-Audio Solo. They don’t last very long. It’s seems to blow every time I plug in a microphone, Either the phantom power or the pre-amp. I hope you watch this video and seriously consider buying this. Save your money. Buy something better for an extra 20-30$. Once you're blessed with the red light of doom. It's over. I had the same problem. Turns out the chip "IC2" was cooked (it's near the Input 1 knob). It provides negative voltage to the board - you need to replace it with chip called SGM3204YN6G.

I think it's because you plug it in with the phantom power button on

I owned M-Track Solo, and when I plugged in my PC on Win10, it always detect as USB AUDIO CODEC.
And when I install the M-Track Solo and Duo 1.0.3 driver, it cannot install, always have Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable pop-up 2 times, and then it quits.

When I runned my DAW (Studio One), its show NO AUDIO DRIVER.

My M-Track solo just got toasted. Same 2 red light issue which is what brought me here. At least I got a couple years use out of it. Maybe we all should start a class action law suit against M-Audio. Just kidding about the lawsuit, it's just frustrating throwing good money away. I'm sure comments are just the tip of the iceberg of people with bad units while M-Audio is making millions off these units. Btw, I read some where it might be caused by plugging the USB into the computer while it's on with a surge of power to the box.

It's probably an SMD fuse. Usually they have something like 3A or the likes printed on them.Take a multimeter, set it to ohm and measure both ends. If it has more than a few Ohm it could be the one that blew. But I agree its hard to find. Thanks for warning us

Why is it when I had purchased this exact interface JUST yesterday and these videos pop up?

Oh well, I'll share my experience once I have it delivered here, I'm planning to use it with a condenser microphone.

Is it worth buying for streaming? I don't use phantom power..just use aux from my mixer and keyboard in the second input.

I just plugged a guitar up to it and it was already toast. Maybe it was a return product and they just retaped it and sold it again. To me. There was no paper work or anything just the interface and two styrofoam pieces holding it in place. It wasn't even wrapped in plastic.

I have a problem with the 6.3 jack and there's no ways to fix it. This thing is pure garbage. Great video by the way! I hope that people don't waste their money buying this shit.
