Why EVERYONE Should Have a Personal Website

I always have my personal website. Can't live without it. It's like my online home. I own everything I posted. I can have a unique layout and there's no limitation on how I tell my story visually. It's professional, I can show my design skills and so on. And it takes time and thought to actually post or do something. Unlike social media where it's too easy to share something unthoughtful. Blog/website forces you to think more, craft more and I like that.

I have been thinking the same thing for years. Why is it not "normal" to have your own website? Every facebook, instagram, tiktok etc profile are the same but making your very own webpage, it will be unique. "Hello World" for real.

I have my "main career" in Healthcare (commercial area), I also have a small ecommerce, I also freelance (Excel sheets), and I also have lots of interests haha should I just pick one niche, or can I divide it into different "sections"?

I don't have a business website but I sell on Etsy. Should I have a personal website telling people what I sell and where and maybe open a website for selling at a later date, or should I integrate them together. Thank you

Those are good points and I do have my own website hosted on my NAS server. But I'm still trying to figure out what/which direction exactly I am heading at. I mean I could put up things about myself like intros, blogs, and my hobbies, amongst other things. But I need it to be something more substantial.

By the way, while the idea of using CMS like Wordpress, Wix or Fourspace is the current trend to create websites I think I'd like to code my website from scratch. For one thing, it gives me the full control on what I put up on there. Not to mention, it gives the opportunity to learn more on new coding techniques since I was a former web developer; just that I had not done website in like ages. So this is a great chance for me to refresh my skills.
