Thank you for this video. I was pretty sure they just pulled out but this video gives me the confidence to move forward in replacing all the controls in my 2005 Avalanche.

Good product. The wiring harness on the lower end were difficult. I used craft wire to hold the harness while I snapped the controls in place. The uppers are easy. '05 Silverado Z71.

I just replaced 2 out of the 4 switches on my 07 Chevy 2500HD Classic within the past week.  I found it slightly easier and less damaging to the harness if you remove the airbag from the center of the steering wheel using two small flat head screwdrivers prior to replacing the switches. From here, I take a small 90-degree/right-angle screwdriver, place it behind the steering wheel rubber to hold the connector in place while carefully sliding the new switch into place until it clicks (locks) in the harness.  I wish GM would have provided at least another inch to the harness - that would have made a world of difference.

04 Silverado. I used a hook and pick set to remove and install mine.
You can get the hook behind the connector and pull into the switch. Some suggest using fishing line too.

Will these switches fit my 2005 GMC Sierra? All my light bulbs have burned out.

I have a 2003 Silverado 2500HD. What do you guys do when GM pulled the connector all the way to the back of the hole? There is almost zero play with the wire. There is no way to reach back there with pliers and hold the connector and slip in the switch. Will disconnecting the harness behind the air bag and horn help?

Yikes those switches are expensive.  I have one with the lights out, but it still works so I will probably just keep it the way it is.

Seek volume replacement, harness was short on 2005 yukon. Tried other ways to connect this. Video grabbing with needle nose pliers worked well.
