Absolutely mind blowing. I’m keen on learning these dimensions to second and third language « acquisition » and in working in particular on learning Kiswahili and Lingala, both Bantu languages infused with elements of other languages such as Arabic, Farsi, French, Portuguese and English…in all of these I’ve been excited to see much of what you present here in the non - verbal (though perhaps still sound/voice based foundations of orality) in these languages. The highly expressive and musical / rhythmic character of Lingala stands out in my experience of this, and I believe it applies to most African languages. And the connections with poetry and dance, as well as story - telling, mime and yes stand up comedic interactions, impromptu roll playing and such in these non-standard Anglo-American Englishes no- doubt constitute a rich area for research. I hope you and your students and colleagues will be able to explore these! (I’m a retired grandfather teacher, translator and social worker - so regrettably I can’t myself work much on this !
I will enjoy savoring this video many times, I am very sure.
Thank you again !!

Thank you for such a succinct and informative summary of this topic. It was really useful for extending my understanding during a course in TESOL and Linguistics.
