Internal vibrations in menopause and tips to ease them. Odd menopause symptom.

This video focuses on internal vibrations in menopause. I discuss how they feel, how shifting estrogen causes them and I give tips to ease them. This is truly an odd menopause symptom but one that causes a great deal of anxiety and concern for many perimenopausal and post menopausal women so a dedicated menopause video addressing this strange body buzzing seems important.

Great video, Kari! Paresthesias, the internal vibrations you're talking about, are listed in the Kupperman Index of Menopause Symptoms, used in scientific research, but most doctors have probably never heard of them for menopause. I was just observing them this morning, as I was just lazing in bed all of a Sunday morning. They've been going on for years now with me, and I've gotten to the point where I've half gotten used to them. But they can also be uncomfortable, even waking me up and keeping me up in the middle of the night. But your covering the subject, as always, makes it easier to deal with, when you realize so many other women are in the same boat!

Internal vibrations for me were diagnosed as hyperparathyroidism, which can cause fluctuations in blood calcium levels. It's important to see a doctor regularly and ask them to check your calcium and vitamin "D" levels. The sensations stopped after treatment (which for me was removal of one parathyroid gland (there are 4) and I now take daily calcium and vitamin D replacement. These sensations are not "normal" and might mean you have an imbalance. Ask your doctor for a lab test. P.S (I have been a nurse for 40 years). I hope this helps.

It feels like my body is tingling, but unpleasantly. I thought it was anxiety. I'm so mad no one ever shared this with me.

Oh my gosh! Wish I would have found your channel 3 months ago. I get these vibrations in almost every part of my body including the base of my skull. Along with jello arms and legs that feels like low blood sugar, burning feet-especially after exercise, muscle cramps, muscle twitches, nausea, and of course anxiety because of all my symptoms. Went to my GP, a neurologist, a vascular doctor, gastroenterologist, and a rheumatologist. None of them had a clue about my symptoms. Worst of all, the neurologist thought all my symptoms were psychosomatic. 🙄 I began to think I was losing my mind too.

I cannot believe you brought this up! I just now got brave enough to vocalize to my husband that I get these vibrating sensations all through my body. It sounded so strange to say out loud. I only notice it at night and it is so bizarre and when it “shuts off” it’s like a switch and will come and go rather suddenly. I don’t have hot flashes yet. I wonder if that’s what this is leading up to. I wanted to ask my doctor about it but I thought she would think I was crazy. I’m 47 and found your channel when I started to realize that all of these strange symptoms I have been having may have something to do with perimenopause and I went to the internet and YouTube for help. Thanks to videos like this one I am not as scared and do not feel as alone now. I have been having issues for a few years and not once did my doctor suggest I was perimenopausal.

Oh my gosh, I've been experiencing this for years, and I thought it was just because I was fundamentally off. I have all the exercise, diet, B12, etc. angles covered and thought maybe it was just part of being extremely sensitive. I'm 51 and this started when I was 47. Alrighty then! It's my entire body, and I can easily feel it almost anytime, but it's awful when I'm trying to sleep, which is so difficult already. Bless all of us older ladies

Mostly in my core and arms. It’s like my skin is electrified-buzzy-vibration. It’s very uncomfortable and and extremely heightens my anxiety and make me want to get out of my skin. I’ve been prescribed Xanax and it helps some. It softens the system’s.

Mainly in my arms and hands especially after I've done something like lift heavy things. I go back and watch your videos throughout the month for the different feelings like moodiness, fog and I can feel the low estrogen right before my cycle is due. This weather change here in northern PA isn't helping with joint pain!! Stay warm it's getting cold, nice week this week but going to change back to cold. Lol

Thank you so much I've been doing this for about 2 years and my husband acted like I was crazy when I tried to explain this feeling or vibrating sensation to him it's so reassuring to know I'm not the only one. Mine seems to be in the center of my body and radiates outward to my chest and legs feet areas. I'm very thankful for your video and helpful information 🙏 have a wonderful Holiday 🎉

Thank you great video can relate so much. Feel like Mario cart buzzing along the race track bumping into the wall.
The buzzing, shaking can be quite frightening, it only started for me this year. Understanding what it's all about helps. It stops as mysteriously as it starts. My body is really working hard.
Thanks ❤😊

Thank you for this video! I am post menopause and when this started in my feet I was scared to death, it sent my anxiety sky high. Not enough Drs have even heard of this and looked at me like I was nuts then told me to go to a neurologist . I was on HRT and thought that caused it, but I have been off of HRT for awhile now and it’s not as bad but it still is there. It’s so annoying especially when you already have insomnia . I might try the B12 see if that helps . It’s shameful that Drs are so clueless about symptoms except for hot flashes!

Never heardof this. I'm glad I watched this in case it ever happens to me. Sounds like something that would freak me out if I didn't know.

Kari, you are absolutely right with regards the B12 and magnesium, agree with you 100 %. . Oh my goodness, I had really low levels of the above and once I started supplementing with these I very slowly saw their positive impact. I could not believe how much I vibrated, my back felt 'switched on endlessly for months. Having them in your head is really unnerving too. Please ladies, if you are watching this and haven't tried B12 and magnesium, please follows Kari-Anne' s suggestion. They really are a game changer. Give them time to work and you will reap rewards. THANK YOU KARI-ANNE FOR ALL THE WORK YOU DO HERE. Xx
