Internal Tremors/Vibrations In Perimenopause - What Causes Them?

Показать описание
Internal vibrations or tremors can be a disconcerting symptom.

Unlike external tremors, internal tremors are unseen and cannot be felt on the outside of your body. These invisible sensations are often felt in your trunk, arms, and legs.

Some people also feel them in their organs even though organs physiologically cannot tremor. While internal tremors won’t cause you to spill your drink or interfere with your fine motor skills, they can be alarming.

And because you can’t see or feel them externally, internal vibrations are hard to explain to others, including your doctor.

My internal vibrations started right when my periods stopped, on June 4th, 2020. I get them each time I go to sleep. I've had over 180 doctor appts/scans/tests and no one has been able to tell me what they are or why they are happening. Mine are not stress, diet or exercise related, but they have certainly caused me much stress. They are horrible.

Mine started 2020 after a operation of removing 1 of my ovaries. Had a million doctor appointments and no one could help. Finally found a female Dr who prescribed 10mg of amytriptaline to treat some nerve pain in my body and this helped the inner tremble sensation. I also tried 25mg same medication when the pain was worse and no joke the inner tremble was gone. This medication has been my saviour.

Mine started at menopause towards the end of hot flashes. At first I thought it was my heart doing something weird until I read that a woman described it as a cell phone buzzing inside her. I feel it every few minutes when I lay down at night. I guess I'm lucky they don't bother me too much; they don't keep me from sleeping as much as the hot flashes did.

I agree with a couple of other people here. I think that this is due to low electrolyte levels = and low blood volume.

I wonder how many women suffer from feeling like fainting with this too...? Because if they do, I would definitely hazard a guess that this is related to fluctuating hormones/a decrease in them = with which both affect electrolyte levels AND blood flow (to the brain).

Talk about perimenopause HELL. A new doctor tested my hormone levels again a coulple of weeks ago - and compared to my levels a year ago, the lab came back saying that blood tests could not detect any progesterone at ALL. Progesterone is your body's natural 'Valium'/calming hormone. So all of these things combined together and you'll start to feel really awful, shaky & stressed! 😢

Serenity and hugs to all the women going through this! ❤🫂

It happens to guys too. It could be something else. This was not normal menopausal symptoms over all the ages. Hot flashes, moodiness, irritability and sweating was, since it was hormonal based. These internal tremors are something else.
