WiFi Antenna build (2.4GHz Yagi)

Показать описание
Designing and building a Yagi antenna for 2.4GHz WiFi. It is a highly directional antenna that allows you to connect to your WiFi router from much farther away than normal. Overall, this 2.4 GHz Yagi antenna it is a compact build that works well!
For the design of the antenna:
The driven element has a total length of one half wavelength (12.49cm / 2).
The first reflector is 0.125 times the wavelength away from the driven element and each successive director has a gap of 1.1 times the previous gap.
The reflector is 0.2 wavelengths behind the driven element.
Each reflector is 5% shorter than the previous one.
As for gain, it is somewhere between 7 and 9 dB. Different programs have produced different results. My physical build outperformed the antenna that came with the WiFi adapter, and that antenna was rated for 5dB, so the antenna definitely has a gain of more than 5dB.
Why this design? There certainly are others, and there definitely are more effective ones. Most WiFi antennas have very consistent element lengths. This is what I use because of the simulations that I have run in NEC programs and what I have researched about Yagi designs. Feel free to change this design or use it for yourself.
