Vanilla orchids! An absolute full time job to keep alive and even if you do good luck getting them to produce vanilla pods for you. One of those many things that nature does best.

Also Dani's face, voice and the fact that she's the orchid whisperer makes her seem like a real life Disney princess and we never even knew all these years

This is the first time ever that I have seen your face!!! You are beautiful! However, YOU are the one that first gave me inspiration to do a YouTube video, because I realized... I don't HAVE to be seen in the video 😂!!! I have always been one of those people who shy away from cameras. My photos really don't look like me for some reason..I am not very photogenic. Not that I am pretty in person or anything, my pictures just make me look worse though 😒.

I am not experienced enough to know which orchids not to buy yet. There have been a couple of Phals I have had that were particularly more difficult to grow that others. I am not sure why, but they just didn't do well for me at all, no matter how hard I tried. I also had a coconut orchid that did REALLY well for me for quite some time but then we got a tropical storm that just hung around for al.oat a week dumping water on us and no sunshine. It ended up rotting... I should have pulled it inside after day 2, because we got LOTS OF RAIN during that tropical storm. It just drowned the roots. I will get another one, one of these days. So, in essence, I really don't have one that I won't try to grow yet. I have heard that the vanilla orchid is particularly difficult, so I need more experience under my belt before trying that one. I would like to try though!

I bought an Ioncidium Popcorn ‘Haruri’ more than a year ago after seeing your beautiful specimen. She survived around 9 months and was the only orchid I have ever had die on me. I swore I would never get another, but I just did, she arrived yesterday.!! She is perfect and beautiful and scares me to death. If I lose this one, that’s it for Popcorn 😂

Phalaenopsis hate me and my house. I have sworn them off. No matter what I do or don't do, they just decline and eventually die. The vanda I impulse bought seems to be OK in my care, so far. I've had her for quite a few months and she's still kicking. She's only put out one new leaf since coming home and opening up a little bit. But there are new healthy fat roots. The acclimation process has been long in my opinion, haha. Fall/winter probably didn't help with that either.

Great topic choice! As a lover of house plants I really beat myself up sometimes when I’ve done everything I could to help a plant prosper and it still rots or dies. I’m currently beating myself up over a white fusion Calathea that just seems to hate my guts. 😡
