my parents raised me like this. it was the beginning to many behaviors i didnt realize werent socially acceptable and my family was labelled as the most messed up case my psychologist had ever worked with. her words not mine..i thought having zero boundaries was perfectly normal and was almost expelled from two schools because of it and went through years of being exploited in many fucked up friendships and partnerships due to my utter naïvety

I was an au pair in France. The mom of the children was this absolutely kind, classy, stunning, elegant surgeon. Think Amal Clooney level. My 3rd morning working for them I walking down the hallway and she was sitting on the toilet with the door wide open trying to have a conversation with me about piano lessons that afternoon. It was really shocking but after working there a while, it just kinda seemed normal and made sense lol

But pretty jarring at first lol

After reading some of these comments on here, I have to say that if your kids are teenagers or young adults living with you, then you should NOT be using the bathroom in front of each other! Also, I don’t care how comfortable you are with your partner. You should not be taking a 💩 with them in the bathroom with you; especially women!
And I’m a woman saying this! That’s just foul (no pun intended). 😐

Yeah that's nice and quirky for your family but when other people come over please shut the door also don't walk in on people. I've had these open door people violate me and they don't even realize how wrong it is.
