For those these methods are not working check for external usb power option in bios setup..if its off turn it on your issue is solved

Help needed. I have a new Dell It seems after an update (s) my port isn't working to upload photos from phone to laptop. After watching video above I assume thats the issue. I saw the comment "check for external usb powder option in bios setup if its off turn it on.
Im not sure what I'm doing anyway will continue trying .

I have to unplug the battery/reconnect to get it on but once it falls into sleep mode, completely dies.

While on, wont recognize USBs.

So lost, any help would be appreciated.

For me: it was the power management option. One of my ports was turned off to save power bc my pc got low in battery. thank you!

To anyone thats trying this on a laptop before you try this, try doing a static discharge which is basically disconnecting your battery from your device and then reconnecting it. this could be done from your bios or just by pressing your power button for 30 seconds. look it up and try it according to your device.

Appreciate the help. My issue is driving me absolutely insane. Have a Lenovo Legion 5 with 2 USB-C ports on the left side. Both stopped working after working fine for weeks. Found a new Bios update. Installed and they started working again so I thought it was fixed. Then one week later both USB-C ports stop working completely. Tried everything in every video and nothing is working. It's like they don't exist. Drivers are updated & reinstalled, power options are optimal, bios is the most recent. Thinking it's finally time to return the laotop but I really don't want to do that. Very frustrating.

Thank you for your help. But it did not work for me until I found out that my computer needed BIOS updated. I did it through HP Support Assistance.

I followed this video and I also used Driver Boost to update all my drivers because Intel, Nvidia, Windows and Device Manager say everything is up to date but Driver Boost program tells me so many drivers are outdated. So far everything looks working fine but I will come back here if things go wrong!

Tried everething from this video and did a lot more that it(updated drivers, troubleshoot, safe mode, etc.) and it did not work. But i still managed to fix it. For me this problem did not appear from nowhere. One of my USB ports stopped working after i connected USB phone cable, which caused an erorr in Windows. After that, everything that i connected to the same port were powered(rgb lighting on mouse/headset) but did not appear anywhere on PC and did not work. I solved this problem by reconnecting the same cable and deleting it with Device Manager. This somehow fixed everything
