Soldering the way you explained is a good way to break something - or blow it up. You apply heat to the terminals / pc board FIRST, then touch the solder wire to the terminal and pc board and let the heat melt it. You get a smooth, shiny, small solder joint. Dull solder or large balls (Of Solder, like in your video!) are a sign of bad solder joints.

Can you replace the old port with a new one from another battery port? The USB charging port either got pushed in or something so the USB port is just an open space so I want to put in a new one...is any USB port going to work?
