I’ll never forget my Mormon cross country trip my parents made us go on and stopping at Carthage jail and having my first faith crisis because the story didn’t make no sense and I had seen a lot of weirdo Mormon relics of JS running for president, and staring into the void during the audio they play at the jail, and my mom telling me after “I could tell you really were feeling the spirit” and I was like “uuuuhh…. I was feeling something-“ shelf breaks, I become an adult and I finally google how that story really did go down- but was somehow still shocked by how much they lie about

I like how you mentioned Early Church history and also don’t forget the Early Church Fathers of the Church.

I grew up Protestant and all my life it was always Bible alone no extra biblical sources till finally I broke down and read a bit of St Augustine. My life was ever changed I’m currently studying Koine Greek and am leaning to the point where I’m either Catholic or Orthodox. I’m going through arguments for and against the papacy and the conclusion on that is what will determine which way I go. Good for you for leaving! I have known some Mormons and not going to say that they are mean people but I will say it’s a shame that people can be that fooled. Hopefully God will call your Heart to maybe become a critique of Mormonism like Jerald and Sandra Tanner are GREAT in my opinion.

Oh yes, he, with a 3rd grade education, barely the ability to dictate a simple letter, a HUUUUGE stash of all these contemporary books, managed to write an absolute masterpiece of a lie in 60 days in one continuous draft.

Yk another crazy thing found in a scientific study is that different people speak/write using a frequency of certain words. They looked at the BoM to see if there were truly different writers and prophets, or if Joseph Smith had just made it all up… Lo and behold, it passed the test with flying colors

Don Bradley left the church after looking into the history then later was hired as a professional researcher to research polygamy in Nauvoo. What he found brought him back to church. Look him up

The Book of Mormon is pretty explicitly against polygamy. I think Joseph Smith was "wrestling with the temptations of the flesh" when writing it, and then later got enough power and hubris to justify getting away with it..
