Astrazeneca vaccine: safe or not safe? | Inside Story

Many countries have been relying on the Astrazeneca vaccine to get them out of the coronavirus pandemic.
But there have been problems from supply to side effects.
Now, European regulators say the vaccine can, in rare cases, cause blood clots.
The UK is to offer alternative jabs to young people, who appear to be more at risk.
But both the UK and the EU say they remain confident in the Astrazeneca vaccine's effectiveness and safety.
There have been fewer than 80 cases reported in the UK despite more than 20 million doses being given out.
So, should people be worried?

My wife Took astra Zeneca on may 28
Next day had lite fever and body pain.. and was well for a week .. then she had mysterious problems . For a week doctors struggled to diagnose her issue until after a week they found out she had blood clot in three veins related to her pancreas . She had extreme abdomen and back pain. And was admitted immediately. Still recovering

Blanket measures are dangerous. Each person is an individual and one needs to consider the state of your health and your attitude towards risk.

I class myself as a healthy, 48 year old male with no underlying health conditions. I had the AZ jab on 24th April. 3 weeks later I was admitted to hospital with large volume bilateral pulmonary emboli with severe right heart strain. I'll let you decide. I'm sceptical in having a 2nd AZ vaccine.

No one, if they choose to be vaccinated, should have it done without a full medical and blood tests, specifically checking their platelet levels. They should then discuss with their doctor based on their results which would be the best option for them.
No one should go in this blindly. Everybody is different.

Our bodies are good and natural. They react to something peculiar entering into our bodies. Normally vaccines are developed in more than 10 years.

Had my 1st dose of AZ last week. Side effects were all flu-like with highest temp at 38 degrees. Took it easy for two days, paracetamol as needed. Would occasionally go through a mental checklist for signs of thrombosis (google is your friend). I feel normal now except that my entire deltoid muscle feels like it was punched. The injection has to go deep into the muscle. Next jab is in August. Im a 46 yo female.

A few weeks ago I watched & listened to Dr J. Campbell who told us that due to incorrect training in administering Astrazeneca etc is that some who have carried out this, has not injected into the muscle but into the vessel, He said that sometimes it is necessary to check this by aspiring the syringe content, if it comes up red[diluted] then it has been done in the wrong place and that we should write to our MP's about this to ensure that it is passed on that the vaccine should be aimed in the correct place.
