How To EASILY Unlock The Greenhouse Before Your First Winter
___________________________________________________________________
Have you ever spent your first winter on a new save file without a greenhouse? I have and I must say, it considerably reduces the amount of money you can make in winter, and it also results in just having less stuff to do in winter. Without a greenhouse, your winter will probably consist of fishing and mining at the skull cavern, which isn’t bad, it can just be a little repetitive over the course of an entire season! So in this video, I will be giving you some tips and tricks of how I usually make sure I Unlock the Greenhouse around mid-fall, right in time to start preparing for winter!

The only thing I can add is that you need only 3 items out of 4 for quality bundle, so forget parsnips. Your farming level in spring won't be high enough and you'll just waste time on unprofitable crop. Instead plant cauliflower and strawberries in huge amounts so you level up your farming quick and then in summer you'll get golden melons naturally.

I chose the mushroom cave in my second farm. At first it is exciting because I get free mushroom everyday to sell or consume. But as the seasons passes, it became completely useless and boring to me that I no longer care about it. The worst part is I have to buy fruit trees ( apple and pomegranate) just to complete the community center. So yeah lesson learned.

i have to admit: in my opinion winter in stardew is great. with enough sprinklers and a nicely leveled hoe i plant a hell lot of winter mixed seeds. its a pretty nice income and when im not planting or harvesting i do fishing, mining, foraging and a little bit of decorating or preparing for the next year. in the first winter i use to collect artifacts from the worms to make progress with the museum collection and i forage the stuff to produce a nice amount of mixed winter seeds to be prepared for the next winter. i enjoy the first winter the most because i can just take a break from planting, watering and harvesting. just a little visit in the coop and the barn and the rest of the day is up to me and my luck.

I never have managed to get the greenhouse year 1...the quality crops always mess me up

I usually ignore the quality parsnips since there is three slots out of four to collect.

When I first watched this I was trying to complete the community centre in year one but it was stressing me out and therefore reducing my fun. I decided to restart with just the greenhouse in year one as the goal without stressing about the rest. I just finished the bundle on Fall 19 and woke up to my repaired greenhouse on Fall 20. I could have done better but I forgot a few times what I was suppose to be doing, like when I went to Marnie to buy my ducks she wasn't there and I managed to forget about it for a week or two.

As a bonus I think I might achieve my original goal of finishing the whole community centre before the end of the year.

This is super helpful!! I can never figure out how to get it fast enough, or I accidently sell the stuff I need, and then I'm left pretty bored during winter lol. Thank you :)

a tip for getting gold quality crops i found was to fill your inventory and place a gold quality crop in your inventory as well, you will only pick up gold crops, any other crops wont be picked up (dont hold silver or standard qualty) do this every day as the quality resets each day. alternatively, pick up all the crops and remember the gold spots, reset the day, and only pick those.

If you get some animal product like wool on the traveling cart you can skip some animals on the animal bundle.
Wool is specially usefull because you can skip buying the big and the deluxe barn (you dont need to get sheeps and goats) because the 5 item requirement.
That way you only need chickens, cows and ducks.

I did a bit of grinding, maxed my capabilities on strawberries, then again on blueberries, and the cranberries. I waited to build the coop and barn until summer and it stressed the wallet much less. I did a ton of math, planned out my minimum funds needed for cranberries according to how many sprinklers I had managed to get, and then spent all but that on buildings and upgrades. The first cranberry harvest got me pigs, which you have to get about the middle of fall or else they won't get any truffles before winter. Two days before the end of fall, I had the greenhouse, and my community center was waiting on only two winter forageables and 3 apples. I picked the fruit bat cave early in summer, and those bats... they didn't drop a single apple. The first day I had the greenhouse I scrambled and planted saplings. Personal goal: met.

2:57 I’ve got a chicken named Wumbus in one of my saves too!! It randomized the name and I thought it was hilarious. She also has a counterpart named Chumbus

I always just skip the parsnip golds and get the corn(as secondary) and the melon in summer, and then i can focus on the pumpkins in fall, cus i will have the same corn growing that i planted in summer if i didnt get the golds of that... Hope this route helps somebody! It has always worked for me. Easy year 1 comm center, not just the greenhouse! :p

You only need 3 of 4 of the listed items for the quality bundle. Skip the gold-tier parsnips and just get Melons in Summer, Pumpkins in Fall, and Corn in either Summer or Fall.

I spend most of Winter tending to Winter Seed crops for easy Foraging experience, or easy Iridium quality goods from Botanist.

I plant winter foragebles in winter. By the end of my first winter I made over 400 of them. I plan on keeping 440 of them for the following years. That way I can keep my field of sprinklers busy all winter 😉

I know this is old but I want you thank you for your help. I started playing this game after my son recommended it & having only played mobile games before I was pretty lost. This gave me specific mini goals to work toward getting the greenhouse. It took me a few years but I'm enjoying the game. I would recommend this video to anyone just starting out & unsure of how to get going. Thanks!
