Speaking in tongues is a BENEFIT of the Holy Spirit‼️

Walking in your fruit is EVIDENCE of the Holy Spirit in your life‼️

Do you have receipts? The Bible says that the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. But can we produce receipts of those fruits in our lives? Today’s sermon encourages us to spend time in God’s Presence and make sure that his spirit is bearing healthy, ripe fruit in our lives.

Well alright! So when I joined in 2019 this was a subject that I was very interested in learning about. Because some of the MEANEST people I know can hit them tongues on command, and it perplexes me that those people could do that and I could not (still can’t H.O.T) and finally get this message. God know what he does. And I’m grateful to have a father like our father

Acts 19:6) When Paul placed his hands on them,  the Holy Spirit came on them,  and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

Acts 2:3) They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were amazed because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and declaring the greatness of God. Then Peter responded, “Can anyone withhold water and prevent these people from being baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days.”

As a spirit-filled believer you absolutely should be displaying the fruit of the spirit. But fruit is grown and developed over time. Speaking in tongues after being filled with the Holy Spirit is unquestionably evidence of being filled with the Spirit. That is what we see in the Bible.

It is AFTER a person if filled with the Spirit that they are able to grow in Christ and display the Fruit of the Spirit to those around them.

Look to the Word of God…
“While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions and came to Ephesus. He found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” “No, ” they told him, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭19‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭CSB‬‬

These were already “believers” in the Lord Jesus. They believed in Christ. Worshiped Him as Lord. Put their hope and trust in Him… YET. They had not received the Holy Spirit. It was after this encounter Paul prayed for them and they received the Holy Spirit evidenced by them speaking in Tongues.

There is no place in scripture that will tell you that you receive the Holy Spirit upon a confession of faith, however we do see in scripture that when a believer receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit it is evidenced by speaking in tongues. It is after this event that Fruit will come.
