The blade is sticking out like an inch!

Trying to teach how to shave while using the wrong blade for the razor, it's dangerous to have that much blade sticking out

Absolutely don’t follow this guys advice

Edit: the more angled the blade is the rougher it’s going to be on your face and feel extremely uncomfortable. Keep the blade at a 20-30 angle depending on your preference and don’t go anything beyond 30 or else you’re asking for razor burn, nicks, and cuts.

First of all use the right blades for this razor.
Feather artist club blades.
So use the angle after and you will have the best result.
Double edge blades are for safety razors or for other types of shavettes

Dude That's the wrong blade. You need an artist club blade for that razor.

What not to do when using a shavettes, first make sure that if you are using a feather AC shavettes, you use an AC blade and not a DE blade; the razor is not meant to hold such a thin blade and could potentially slip and cut you badly. Second, most shavettes that do use a double edge blade require for you to snap the blade in half so that is not sticking half way out. Third, the pro version of that shavette has a semi hollow grind so as for you to be able to hold the thing as flat as possible while the blade is still in contact with your skin.

Last, feather sells guarded blades that you can use for learning or if you like a milder razor which would be about a thousand times safer than what you are doing in this video.

Ps. Short strokes are ok starting out, but imo longer strokes are better as they minimize the amount of times the blade goes over the same spot which is better for your skin.

It’s your preference about how much the blade is exposed!!! You’re just demonstrating your positioning. Thank you

Putting an exposed blade like that at a 90 degree angle on your skin before finding the correct angle is a good way to give yourself a really bad cut put the razor flush against the skin first then while shaving downward you can find the right angle to shave with.

First of all you don’t want the blade all the way out like this, I recommend having it out just enough to see the blade to get better control of the razor. Then lay it down like he said a 25 degree angle. Try to go in smooth vertical or horizontal directions always at that 25 degree angle always making sure you’re pulling the skin or tightening it to make the blade slide easier. If you lift it high or apply too much pressure you will cut yourself. I’ve done it to my face before learning experience.

You need to use a single edge Artist Club style blade in your shavette. 😅

Not too much pressure, too, like any type of razor or else you’ll start cutting the skin and bleeding. Just enough so that it’s the closest shave without damage, leaving it smooth. 👌

Always use a 30-45 degree angle…NEVER FLAT!
