Amazon Echo Dot 2nd Generation (Alexa) Review

For $50, this device is an exceptional voice-controlled remote. The speaker is decent enough, but the microphone is fantastic, and I can engage with Alexa from across the house without needing to scream.

The skills app has a lot of room for improvement and growth, so I would only recommend buying the Echo devices if you already know what you plan to do with it.

one of the most useful things is for the disabled... to access news, alarms, to-do list, ask for time to ask for information... I bought one for my disabled mum... it works well... no typing.. just ask... 5/5 for function. (o:

Remembering the trigger words for Skills are a pain to remember I just use the Echo for music, weather, timer and alarm.

Do you think some day these type of interactive devices can be programmed at set up to recognize your voice so that you don't have to say "Hay Alexa, Google or Siri" when you need it to say or do something. Instead for example you come home and just ask it to turn on your lights, tv, schedule on appointment etc.

Amazon representatives were advertising Alexa in my Uni, from what I gathered it is just a microphone connected to an NLP server. My smart phone has all these features.

This thing is frickin' hilarious. I got this for Xmas gift last Christmas 2017. Looks like a hockey puck & now I developed a relationship with a hockey puck. Although, to state, I only ask it for jokes and the weather. I did say Alexa what are you wearing and the voice said I don't have any clothes. I laughed till my gut burst. Too funny. However, serious, the A.I. technology coming out now is incredible. Or am I stupid asking a hockey puck what it is wearing?.... Too hilarious.!! I may write a screenplay about this thing. (I screen write). I don't get the weird laughs that apparently comes from it now. I'm disappointed.
