Review of the DANIU 12Pcs High Quality Lock Picks Tools Set

Thank you for checking out this lock pick set. From the many cheap generic sets I have tried out throughout the years this set has always stood out to me. The quality is much higher than many of the other $10-20 sets you will find online. This set will help you start your journey into lock sport and you can always upgrade your picks as you progress. Just remember to brace your wallet for purchasing locks, that is where the majority of the expense will be.
My biggest recommendation if you purchase this set is you will want to purchase some more tensioning options especially some top of the keyway (TOK) tensions is 0.040” and 0.050”

I bought myself a set a year ago, for Christmas. I played with it for about an hour and then put it away, but now I somehow got into lockpicking again and after watching your video I followed your advice to "practice, practice, practice". Well, a few hours later and I can crack that transparent lock immediately and I understand how!
Appreciate your guidance and also your patience in creating all these videos.

This is a really good set to start off with, if I had known when I first started this was out there I absolutely would have picked this set up.

My first lock picking set was a mattock and a 7lb sledge hammer, bit noisy but saved messing with a tensioner.

I tried to order this set based on your review. It was sold out on almost every website. I actually ordered it on Bonanza yesterday. They emailed me today saying they already sold the last one. There was one on eBay for $22 but I didn’t want to wait 3 weeks for shipping. I ended up ordering another nice beginner set, the Southord PXS-14 from the Southord website. After the 10% off coupon for my first order, it was around $25 plus shipping. The Southord comes with 1 more tension wrench and a couple more rakes compared to the Daniu 12pcs set. It also has a double ended tool and a nice leather case that is pocket sized. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase, even though the Daniu was my first choice. Thanks for the review!

I bought this set last year shortly after I started picking. Mine was branded "Honest", but, same set. Very good for the money. In fact, I still frequently use the half diamond from this kit and it's held up pretty well. If you can only spend $20, this is probably as good as it gets. That said, I think the Spirit or Tuxedo set from Sparrows are a better buy at around $40. More expensive, but the quality is much higher.

This was the first set I bought, and I agree with everything good you said about them. The one thing I didn't like about it as a beginner set is the lack of selection of rakes and tensioners. But something similar (especially the lack of top of the keyway tensioners) can be said about almost all cheap "beginner" sets, even those from high end manufacturers.

Thanks for your help, I always was interested in being a locksmith, when I was a kid, many years ago, I took a course at home from Belshaw way before the internet, like fifty years ago!
I always install high quality locks in my homes especially that bumping is so easy. I just might buy this set to play around.

my first set from banggoods was decent enough to open most master locks and brinks, they started breaking on the abus 41 series. last i checked its $10 on banggoods and comes with the clear pastic lock, can't go wrong for $10

My first set was a no name Chinese ebay purchase, as I didn't want to spend too much starting out, but as this hobby is kinda addictive everything new I want, love Peterson's stuff now

That looks like a good beginner's set for certain plus a big enough case for adding on. A good review my friend.

I started with a Southord C810 and added from Multipick a W04 and a BOG03 and a 19 EUR set from Amazon with 4 transparent locks and a lot of tentioners. I didn't care about the cheapo picks but the nylon case was OK, the tentioners a good addition and the only "pick" from that cheap set I have in my final assembly is the broken key extractor just in case if that would be once needed...

So the amazon thing was just to have a bigger case, tentioners and the transparent locks.

Finally, I thought I was the only left handed picker :D

I don't think I've ever seen you pick before. Nice job. I think that left handers start out at a disadvantage because it just doesn't look natural and I think it takes longer to perfect but you got it down pat. Congrats

If I'd start over again I'd suggest a set of quality pics like petersons, perhaps just basic hooks (like standard and gem) in 18 and 25 thousands and a bogota style rake or Southord euro series basic kit. I don't have that many wide locks which makes thinner better for euro locks. However, as a beginner I was quite rough handed and some locks that had room for pics that take more abuse were really usefull.
Higher quality picks really make a difference and with cheap picks that have huge rough/sharp edges everywhere it makes it just more difficult for a beginner.
A couple hooks and a rake or two is a lot for a beginner trying to perhaps rake some locks and start learning single pin picking. I think most would add a small diamond that has uses in tight spaces but I rarely tend to use one.

Great review, and a good looking beginner set. Picking the American with
the pick from this set is quite impressive.
Thanks for sharing.

Great review and demonstration.
I started out with the set you used as the cheaper comparison set.
Would have done better with the Daniu set.
👏👍👍👏🐈
