✅ FINALLY! 5G Coverage Map Updated - T-Mobile 5G Mid-Band Ultra Capacity - Layer Cake Frequency

I show how you can access the updated T-Mobile 5G Coverage Map and see the different types of 5G they offer and what that means for your speed. I reference this for T-Mobile 5G Home Internet but its the same coverage for cell phones. T-Mobile has a different 5G approach then AT&T and Verizon. Personally I think T-mobile's plan is better but we have to see how the full roll out goes, it has sometimes been spotty on reliability as they upgrade their network. I also get into the details of mmWave 5G, mid-band 5G (aka Ultra Capacity) and low-band (aka Extended Range).

Hi Nate, Two videos in one day what a treat. I am on the edge of the map but I am connected to the mid band layer. My speeds are around 250 down and 50 up.

The map for my location says ultra capacity but I still only get like 120Mbps like before.

It's great. I'm getting around 300mps on a N71 tower in Baltimore, Maryland.

Nate, great video and helpful map. I think you meant hundreds of megabits, instead of hundreds of megabytes.

I'm not sure if there was a massive improvement in T-Mobile's map, but it does look like the coverage map is a little more accurate. There are some small spots around Skokie and Evanston, IL where Extended Range 5G is offered, but it looks like most of these two towns are well covered by T-Mobile's Mid-Band spectrum.

It's actually pretty accurate in my area

seems accurate enough in my area, it told me I would get the weaker 5g and I do, but it's strong enough to usually never fail and use the 4g

Have 5g out in SE Michigan, coverage map’s been good here! Loving the crazy fast speeds. Streaming 4K on Magenta Max.

If you go on T-Mobile’s prepaid coverage map you’ll see “fair, excellent” but only for there 4G LTE

The Ultra Capacity layer of this map is pretty accurate in my area but there are some new N41 areas that aren't shown yet. The N71 coverage is overstated though and no longer shows signal strength.
My tower is in the process of being upgraded for n41 now though 😁

Thanks for the coverage map! :) I was wondering about coverage / signal strength. I'm about 1-1/2 miles ENE from a tower as the crow flies. Once I get my gateway device from T-Mobile I'll try it on its own and see if I need an antenna from there. I've been waiting 30 days now and T-Mobile says it will be another 30 days - more or less. :( Thanks again for the map!

My area says extended range 5g. Did a speed test on my 5g cell and got a high of 614mbs down. I'm about 6 miles from the ultra capacity area by there map.

The map says my address is in 5G Ultra Capacity (although I am towards the edge) but I always connect to B66 / n71.

My whole city is covered in mid band from t mobile. Verizon has started putting c band here. And while faster, it’s only in a few industrial areas whereas n41 and n71 are everywhere

I had Verizon. Got coverage everywhere I went. Bill was 119 a month. Went to Tmobile and coverage is less but my bill is 62 a month. And that is with the 25% off for life. And that is on the $85 a month plan.

N41 deployments have exploded in the nyc metro in the last 9 months . I’ve seen at least 100 sites with 6449s

Hi Nate, maybe you can help me figure something out... we just got an invite from T-Mobile to sign up for 5g home internet. I checked the map and we are in an area with strongest Ultra capacity signal. I know there is a tower about 1 mile away. My question is does the signal come from the tower only or are there smaller cell towers or transmitters around the neighborhood like you mentioned to distribute the high frequency signal? I can’t see anything as all utilities are buried in the ground and we have no light poles outside.

Is there a way to change the NAT type on the router? I also have a mesh network attached to it as well

I don't understand I'm getting 80-90 down 150 down on a good day n41 b-66 T-Mobile says I should have good coverage around my area for ultra capacity but I don't understand why I'm getting such lousy download and upload speeds for it

TKS Nate, Memphis is like New Orleans w/ large urban forest making 5G spotty. I'm on B2 & n71 here w/ '2 bars'.
I have not put up an externat antenna yet, b/c I'm getting by as is. Connection was very solid until this past month, prime time betwwen 5-6pm, a couple times it shows no internet. I so rebooted the trash can from the Web Gateway User Interface and reconnected.
