So many great memories from the ROM and the Planetarium. They inspired me with wonder and curiosity.
But I still hate the crystal lol

I miss the OLD dinosaur exhibit before it moved to the crystal. The Dino skeletons used to be displayed in life-like scenes. It was a more exciting and immersive experience in the 80s.

The shot of the courtyard at 5:05 is actually the AGO not the ROM. The room with the fountain the middle and arches all around.

The former terraced building was far more appropriate and beautiful than the so called Crystal, which isn't and never was intended to be see through. In fact, the embarrassment has been suppressed by the noticeable lack of archival images of it's pre Liebeskind architorture!

Definitely return the artifacts. Museums could share their exhibits with other nations around the world with consent of the peoples they came from, and returned after a tour. The British Museum is the worst offender.

Another great mini doc. Thanks!

Museums shouldn't give back artefacts, this in itself makes for an interesting piece of history and adds to the authenticity of an exhibit

There is NO value in giving back artefacts. In a nutshell when they are, they are resold into the black market

I loved the ROM especially as a child but sure history is controversial so exhibits and discussion about it often is also. Can't always glorify things like war and apartheid and slavery or stolen artifacts from Africa or elsewhere. I liked the geology best the rocks and jewelry but even some of those were probably blood diamonds in retrospect. I only visited once after the crystal renovation there was probably a need to modernize but personally I missed the nostalgia I liked the swamp setting the dinosaurs were in for years it was more interactive imo it's just sterile looking bones now.

We hate the useless spaced infinitely ugly American Crystal, but, thank the gods the ROM is still there, and not gone like the Planetarium, no thanks to Evil Mike Harris. Re: artifacts returns; I agree returning many, perhaps not all, artifacts, after copies have been done so ROM visitors can still enjoy the copies here too where and by whom they were originally discovered recovered saved and displayed. The ROM and other museums deserve the thanks of the whole world, including the thanks of those peoples from whom the artifacts came, for what the ROM and other museums have done - because - however wrong the ROM etc sins of the past were obtaining the artifacts, the world would not have these artifacts and cultures and stories to learn about, from, and appreciate all these decades and today and the future.
