Gate Agent Tosses Items From Passenger's Bag in the Trash

Keyonne Brooks left his small carry-on bag behind as he boarded his Spirit Airlines flight in New Orleans, Louisiana. Although the manager told Brooks they did not have his bag, he was able to obtain the security footage. In the video, a gate agent can be seen starting to go through his bag and throwing out some items. Brooks says Spirit Airlines told him they are investigating and that the gate agents were suspended.

They need to be fired. Not suspended. They represent the lack of humanity, intellect, and class of most people in this country.

WOW. Throwing out a bag by accident or carelessness is one thing—but FLAUNTING yourself while doing it, FILMING it, LAUGHING at it, and POURING out someone’s medication?…That’s a new low. That is evil. They should be fired and not allowed to work at ANY airline EVER again. Disgusting.

I’m a Flight Attendant for another company and this is just disgusting. Our gate agents come on the plane and make an announcement asking if the bag belongs to anyone and if not it goes directly to unclaimed luggage area of the airport. This is absolutely disgusting and this man has a right to sue.

Not having access to his prescriptions could have been life threatening. There’s no way for them to know if he needed them to live or not. He’s right “where’s the humanity?”

This is why I am always kind, grateful and appreciative to good people because people like what we just saw is waiting for you out there. I hope those women really reflect on what they did and learn from their experience to treat people better in the future. I’m glad I still have my heart for people intact. Some may walk over you or take advantage and those that do i just have to separate myself from them but I never want to treat people like what we just saw. Love everyone who reads this!

Just the fact that the gate agents were not only throwing away this man's stuff, but actually having fun with it, really makes you question what kind of morals they were taught, or what kind of upbringing they had. We live among some truly awful people in this world.

Wait. They must have had his name, if he'd just gone through the gate. They couldn't see the name on the medication bottles, and call down to the door of the plane? They couldn't make an educated guess where he'd gone, and got the bag down the ramp to him? This is just outrageous!

I too just had a horrible experience with Spirit! Not only did they cancel my flight but they also sent my luggage to the wrong island under someone else's name but even worse when I finally received my luggage 2 days later my suitcase was completely destroyed. I will never fly Spirit again, you couldn't pay me.

Suspended? They were supposed to hold on to that item until someone called to claim it. They violated that man's belongings.

It just makes me wonder, how many times they've done this in the past. These employees look awfully comfortable going through this man's belonging. Shame on them. They should have been fired and charges brought up on them for theft.
