Maybe you killed the i7 last time with your dodgy thermal paste technique. You need to spread it out evenly or you'll get uneven cooling and it won't be able to cool optimally/sufficiently

My guy, your channel is all about water-cooling. You should know about heat distribution through a liquid.... Namely: Thermal Paste.
