Some notes about the intel i9 vs r9 comparison data:
- slightly older GPU drivers on the AMD system
- all systems had VBS+tamper protection enabled in Win11
- it is unclear if MUX switches or external displays were used

Idk if I should return the 11800H + 3070 I picked up for $1500 and wait for the ti versions and 12th gen. I'm upgrading from a 1050 ti so in any case a big jump anyways but still. Any thoughts?

I was going to take a new laptop during Q1 this year, but after seeing this, I am going to wait for your testing and comparison.

Thanks for the news video. Every time you mentioned 12th vs 11th gen on desktop it ticked me off a bit, as Tiger Lake is pretty different from Rocket Lake (the laptop i9 being within 10% of the desktop despite using less than half the power).

I am pretty sure Intel will have superior performance compared to AMD but the battery thing described by Intel makes me think that battery life is probably going to suck. Man, why can't we have best of both worlds!

you would be surprised at the number of games that won't use the full power of x16 on PCI-E. Hell been rocking an eGPU for years and I have not noticed that much of a difference in playing games on an eGPU or on a full size desktop (maybe a loss of 15 frames or more at best.

I heard from MLiD that Intel is also planning to bring the full fat desktop lineup with 8p+8e cores to mobile also, but it should release later than this. Those would come with cut down 32 EUs of Xe graphics, but imagine the 12900k's core configuration in a 45w form factor.

This is gonna be awesome but however us who have older laptops I don't think they're readyt o go into the trash just yet since most games are GPU dependant and that's the most important thing . Good cooling, minimal throttling and power is important as well . I'm still playing on my rtx 2080super max q with Eluktroboost , 32gig ram and 10875h laptop and it's been more than excellent source of gaming at 1080p and VR . I can't wait to try it out though like always I'm late to the game and I don't feel like paying another 1800 dollars for 20+ fps more
