PlayStation Portal WAY BETTER than EXPECTED!

The PlayStation Portal will be WAY BETTER than EVERYONE thinks and here’s why!

When Sony announced their new handheld, we all thought you can ONLY use it at home HOWEVER, this is NOT the case.

Sony states: PlayStation Portal can be played on any Wi-Fi outside your home with at least a 5Mbps transfer speed

Which means, if you have a PS5 at home, you can use the Portal anywhere in Public like a Nintendo Switch, so I’m definitely buying one later this year, you too?

My only questions are does the PS5 need to be on and if not then will it be only downloaded games because I can't see it playing any disk when the PS5 is off unless Sony found a way.

Got this as an early Christmas present was surposed how well it works. Took min to read instructions ti get it to connect etc but yeah works very well. Been playing TCM on it

For me this is a great product. I dint always be in my man cave playing games sometimes i like to sit on the couch with the wife and just be around the family, but if nothing is happening it would be nice to play the ps5. Or sitting in the bed and playing a few games before bed is also good

The console itself is very good. I received it the day before the release as a pre-order and I liked it, but! I can’t count how many times I tried to connect remotely. Not once has the console connected remotely to my PS5 from other locations. At home, under home Internet conditions, everything works well. I’m visiting a friend, I’ve never been able to connect to a bar anywhere remotely, it says something went wrong. Although all the settings are set correctly both on the PS 5 itself and on the console itself. I do not know what to do. I rechecked, reformatted, reconfigured, nothing helps, I tried to connect remotely to a friend’s console, it’s impossible, and I tried to distribute the Internet through the phone and through other networks, it’s useless, it doesn’t work. It also requires your physical ps5 to be on and running for it to work. So you have to leave it on all day just to play on the go

It now connects with no issues . I get an occasional interruption in game play for about 2 seconds
But it works well

That is a lie. You cannot use the Portal on any wi-fi. The Portal has no browser. Most public wi-fi require browser to agree to terms, enter a temp password or other data (i.e room number). So, it is not like the Nintendo Switch. The Portal needs need your mobile phone to act as hotspot and use your mobile data.

Does the device has a cloud system where you can transfer data from your PS5 to PS Portal? From what I heard, it doesn’t have that. Plus does the console have to on for you to play the device? That is what people are asking.

Im wondering how well the PS LINK is gonna be 🤔 if the latency because of it is low as fck even on other wifi then i might buy it, if not then i'll wait for a better handheld lol

This isn't true necessarily since it doesn't have a web browser it doesn't support Captive Networks meaning you can't use it anywhere. You can only use it on specific wifi networks.
