The fact that I've never thought o use oil for the clumps of buildup! Thank you for that. Straight out of the gate this video is gold!

omg I would have never guessed you had this much hair from the blonde braids, they covered them so well!! I never got colored braids that weren't ombre because I didn't want the black to show but your braider did an amazing job!

the biggest thing i learned from this was to detangle while undoing the braids… i tend to leave the detangling part until later but then have more breakage than i need bc it tangles up even NORE

Glad you made the point about not freaking out at how much hair comes loose during detangling. I always end up with a ball after removing braids and detangling and people who don't braid are always shocked, like I hacked my hair off in the process or something. I've still been doing it wrong, though, cuz I didn't know about using oil to minimize the damage (hence my watching this in the first place). Should have a smaller hair ball this time around 🤣

The tip about using oil to break down the product pockets truly does help! I’m pretty good in moisturizing my hair while having knotless braids in but this tip cut down my take down time even more! Cut down on my shedding as well. Made detangling a breeze and now I’m ready for washday on Thursday. :)

Ive had braids for the first time in my 35 years on this earth. I was so scared taking the braids down myself but you've given me confidence to try this weekend. Would NEVER have thought of oil for the build up. Genius!

I wash my hair once a month with shae moisture coconut oil dehydration shampoo. Then I put a mix of 2/3 tea tree oil and 1/3 water on my scalp while it’s still wet and pores open to oil scalp and kill germs. Then I moisturize the braids with IC moisturizing leave-in Conditioner by Fantasia. I trim the ends. It leaves it clean and with a glow. I use the shower head to wash hair so the water is gentle. I use Bigen around the edges to refresh color first. I also put the hair under a satin bonnet and get Under a hard hair dryer for 20 mins. Then remove and drop hair to allow ends to dry under the dryer. Very happy with results. 😊

personally, I moisturize my hair on a regular/daily basis and when i want to take it out, I dip my hair (with the braids cut) in water to ease the removal and detangle process (keeping a towel around my shoulder). Otherwise, I spray the sections with water as I detangle. I also wash my braids on a bi-weekly basis because I live in a hot place and all that sweat plus build-up... oh no.

Just came to say that this really helped with hair. It's a really effective way of untangling and breaking down the dirt at the ends of the hair. Thank you so much for this!

I've actually kept my box braids in for six 6 months at one point because I loved it so much, and it was my first time.
After 6 months, I finally took it down, and my hair went from eyebrow length to chin length in just 6 months. Yeah, I had a lot of shedding but no breakage.
Now I know not to keep them in long next time I get them done.
Thanks for the videos, girl. ❤
