This happens to so many patients in this situation you wouldn't believe it I watched a documentary about how people in comas and disabled are sexually abused. There need to be stronger laws.

Patients like these honestly need 24/7 live feed surveillance and protection.

I like how the doctor addressed her in the beginning even though she knew she was in a vegetative state. This is respect.

I was in a 9 day coma (because of a violent SA actually)
There was a brief period of time I panicked about being reviolated while I was out.... then I remembered my mom literally only left the hospital room to shower, and when she did one of my aunts would sit with me. So thankful for them 🖤🖤🖤

To make it worse, when they learned that even though she couldn't move or speak, she was aware of it and could feel it.

There should be a strict law for these, and patients like those should be protected... the real story of sleeping beauty was something like this too...

A man was arrested a few yrs ago for this as well. The women was in her mid twenties i believe and he got her pregnant while she was in a coma. Its disgusting.

This actually happened in Phoenix Arizona at a care center called Hacienda. A male caregiver impregnated a woman and was sexually abusing many people there for years… it’s fucking awful

The horrible thing is, you hear about people waking up from comas and they're aware of what was going on around them. So the people who have been SA while in a coma knew what was happening to them and couldn't even try to fight back. It's terrifying

It’s sickening… I swear every time I’m on the internet I find something new that just makes me hate people more and more

Coma Patients should be monitored with cameras at all times.

My boyfriend was in a coma for several months. He woke up after hearing his mom and doctor discussing putting him in a nursing home. The first thing he said "you're not putting me in any effing nursing home.

I think patients in comas deserve to be under camera surveillance in hospitals for their own safety. A patient in a coma can not report malpractice. And this specific crime is far too common. We live in a society that leaves its weak unprotected.

I would say there should be a security camera in the room and always on for these comatose patients. And if they find that it was turned off for an amount of time, the hospital should be heavily penalized so as to keep them on their toes regarding their patients safety.

My dumbass thought that she was pregnant before she got in a coma and that nobody knew and that the baby has been in her body for 5 years 🤦‍♀️

This happened to my cousin while she was in a "care" facility. She didn't get pregnant, thankfully, but she had trauma from SA and, being non-verbal, couldn't communicate what had happened or who had done it. I was a child at the time all of this occurred. I don't think they ever followed it up, though the facility was closed years later for violations. Total horror show. The way people with disabilities are treated is terrifying.

I strongly believe comatose patients should be under 24/7 surveillance via camera at least, ideally with a Police Department outlet so the police can tap in when need be.

My mom used to be in the medical profession and she told me this is more common than people think. She told me about a girl who was in a coma for Two years. When she woke up and did some test on her, she was found to be pregnant. She was only fourteen when she woke up. Her parents sued the hospital and the baby was aborted. They never found out who r*ped her.

I was in a septic coma 2 years ago, for about a month. Thank GOD I was surrounded by nothing but amazing staff. This is one of my biggest "irrational" fears. :/

To make things worse, this patient had locked in syndrome, meaning she knew everything that was going on in her surroundings, just couldnt talk or move. she felt the whole thing ☹️
