I think that the final equation should be 2*Mg = 1000N/sin(theta) since 4000N = 2*Mg. But it doesn't change the final point that Mg goes to inifinity as theta approaches 0. Thanks for the video's by the way :)

Mr. Michel, I believe you have errored in the video; I may not be able to present the whole solution here but I may write all the equations:
I regard both hanging masses to be Fg1 and its tension to be Ft1, while the between mass to be Fg2 and its respective tensions to be Ft2

=} Ft1= Ft2 cos @
=} Fg1= Ft1
=} Fg2= 2 Ft2 sin @
=} Fg1 = Lim Fg2/2 tan @

I am quite interested to find out what happens to the angle if we replace the two cirlces by some pulleys which adds rotational moments to the system. Ill upgrade on

How it is impossible to take the theta=0? In the real world it will be a some little weight which will pull the 1000N W to the highest possible place (i.e the theta to zero). It didn't make sense to me.
And if we pull the two weights by hands then the force will be equal to some magnitude and that will be the required W (i.e mg).

isn't it interesting that you can take the SMALLEST diameter wire and pull it as TAUT as possible.. and it will NEVER achieve a STRAIGHT NEVER!!.. lol... who said you could never say NEVER??.... just to be NEVER NEVER NEVER!!!... there.. I said it... :D.. well done MICHEL!!..

And what happens to the tension on the rope under one pulley if instead of floating between two pulleys the mass floats between one pulley and a fixed point, does the tension double?
