Congrats to independent candidates especially Jeremy Corbin.

Someone asked me why I wasn't excited about this result this morning. I simply asked them which Labour policy they were looking forward to being enacted.

Silence.

Absolutely hilarious that Starmer got fewer votes than Corbyn - and that Corbyn held onto his seat.

People didn’t vote Labour in, they voted Tories out. There’s a big difference.

Starmer’s s vote in Holborn and St Pancras fell from 36, 641 in 2019 to 18, 884 today —that’s a massive drop.
No amount of political posturing by the right wing media will sweep that away.

As my politics teacher said in 1997, when Labour won, no one will change an electoral system that got them into power.

I still find it difficult to reconcile that 34% voter support for Labour/Starmer can give 64% MPs in parliament. And have difficulty using the word 'democracy' in this context.

Disgraceful treatment of Corbyn by Starmer—as a life long Labour voter, up until yesterday, don’t think I’ll ever come to terms with it

All that’s happened is that UK voters have elected another Tory government called ‘Labour’ Brilliant victory for Jeremy Corbyn.

I wanted Leanne to unseat Wes and Jody to win against dreadful Jess.
I'll never vote Labour again the dirty tricks they used were disgusting.

A coalition of the left and the greens is possible. Notice the green party candidate Sheridan Kates clapping and nodding while Jeremy Corbyn talks about Gaza, peace and the two children cap 💚❤️

Starmer's Labour garnered 9.7 million votes, Corbyn's Labour in 2019 (yes that terrible disaster) gained 10.3 million votes. Based on the share of the vote these are the actual number of seats they would have won if they were directly proportional :-
Labour 220
Tories 153
Reform 93
LibDem 79
Greens 44
SNP 13

Mr Starmer are you going to call for an immediate cease fire in gaza now that you are the prime minister of united kingdom or are you going to allow Netanyahu to continue with his genocide?

Agree, Owens done an awesome job and doubtless loads of hard work.

The Greens got 4 seats yesterday, proportionally it was around 44 seats. Going into the election everyone talked about people not wanting Tory, but not wanting Labour either and Voter dissolution, and the turn out showed that. These are some of the reasons PR would be a better. How a party with less that 2% more vote share, gets over 200% more seats to go from minority to majority is considered a good electoral system is beyond me.

Our democracy needs developing, PR, Citizens assemblies, Primary's, elected second chamber, referendums & massive influx of working class MP's

Love to you all
