Keir Starmer’s Labour Party won the UK general election and is on course for a huge parliamentary majority with votes still being counted, a result that upends British politics after Rishi Sunak’s Conservatives imploded. Bloomberg's Alex Morgan analyzes the results.

It is like in Germany, no one wanted Scholz we all wanted to prevent the Hobbit from Aachen. Same with the UK even if Starmer had not made one speech, the people wanted to eliminate the Tories.

Even though starmer had low approval ratings I. Rating, he won. A huge alert for trump, conservative lose.

The thing to know is that Britain is in big trouble.

Sadly, nothing will change. Starmer can do very little to join the EU. He knows it. Unfortunately, the English population still can’t fathom life after their pound is eliminated - let alone Schengen.

Starmer will become very unpopular, very quickly.

Seems like every once in a while the UK gets upset with Conservatives not having their act together despite the mandates they've been given -- so they hand power over to Labour to show their discontent. Then Labour, predictably, makes a mess of things so the power goes back to Conservatives who, hopefully, have learned a lesson by that time. Also, voters hope a few more competent Conservative leaders have risen to the top in that time and replaced the ones who mucked it up last time around.

I wish the bookies would take a bet on nothing changing. That's the only way most of us will gain anything out of this farse of ping-pong politics.

Labour won not because of incompetent Starrmer. Like most on the left he still doesnt understand how important it is to most citizens in countries around the world to crack down on mass illegal migration that is currently being manulatively framed as "human rights' . He won purely because the right split the vote between Conservatives and Reform due to disagreement on how tough to get on mass illegal migration.

As an independent, my ideal political party from migration standpoint would be one that doesn't engage in racism of the far right but still cares about patriotically preserving the identity of one's country. That does not fund so-called "human rights" NGOs or any state run media that have been supporting the violation of borders That still allows asylum seekers as show of solidarity and empathy but only giving them temporary work visas not citizenship. That allows economic migrants in moderation but only if they apply abroad and are vetted for suitability.. That cracks down on mass irregular migration by imprisoning, fining and then deporting ALL of them. Even any legit asylum seekers that violate borders coming from a safe third country should be deported. Not to the safe third country which would unfairly burden them with all asylum seekers but to their country of origin. When someone offers to help, you do it their way not cause problem for them or you should receive no help.

My ideal party would also not mix religion and state like religious fanatics do. Thats committed to giving constitutional legal protection to any of our animal cousins with high levels of cognition and creating a new food supply that does include murdering them like savages. That doesn't ignore global warming and other ecological sustainablity issues but at same time guided by the understanding humans are in the process of re-terriforming the entire planet. That takes the middle ground of mixed economy rather extremes of communism and Randroid ideology. That focuses on the science and technology with a marriage between public and private sector. That provides both basic universal health care and private healthcare option for those who can afford better.

When someone invents such a party... sign me up. Until then I think all the parties are partially sh-t but in different ways.
